The exhibits change over time and they have moved into electronic art and publishing, which is very interesting.

Very interesting paintings -- not to everyone's taste. The seating in the auditorium was excellent and the sound system and lighting was done well. We enjoyed the performance with no distraction from the technicals.

SECCA has been around for over 50 years, but everything you encounter in exhibitions is new. Unlike most museums, even those for contemporary art, SECCA does not have a collection. Instead there are constantly changing exhibitions of contemporary art, no longer only from the Southeast, but from all over the world. As one of my friends once said, SECCA is where you go to see what's happening next.

My family was vacationing in Boone and wanted to find and intersting place to stop on the way to Durham and we picked SECCA. What a fortuitous decision that was! We have very different personalities but we all agreed that the exhibits were interesting and thought provoking. I only wish I lived closer so that I could experience more exhibits. Don't miss this one.
