Caveat: I LOVE breakfast. And I REALLY love a good breakfast. And Mary's has it. Yes, get in line early. WFU daughter didn't realize that they opened at 10:00 and we were there around 9:20. Good thing. One family in front of us left, so we were the third table to be seated. ANd don't kid yourself--the line may stretch down the block, but tables are seated one at a time and not quickly.
But once you are seated, the service is attentive and personal and efficient.
The decor is quite funky and wonderfully eclectic. Different decorative salt and pepper shakers on every table. Some items for sale--jewelry and accessories. It is a bit noisy.
But it is the food that is the star. Most in our party had a version of the a la carte: where you choose a type of preparation (I had the one with potatoes, hubby went without potatoes) so a scramble or an omelet or a frittata or (can't remember the name) but with potatoes--large cubes that are browned on the grill. My scramble: potatoes (lovely golden brown finish on them), avocado, bacon and jalapeño pimiento cheese with two over easy eggs. Delish! Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. Some at the table had different variations. The biscuit---OMG----it was a massive thing that was light as air, but nearly the size of a large hamburger bun. Cheese grits (choose your cheese) were creamy and piping hot and lovely.
I can't wait to go back and experience this brunch again. There are so many variations (there was even a plaintain special the day we were there), I can't wait to try something new. Yes, worth the wait!!!! LOVED IT!
