Description: The Basil Leaf Thai & Sushi restaurant was established in June 16, 2011. We are the newest Thai & Sushi Restaurant in Winston Salem, NC. The two main reasons of starting this restaurant were to bring our family back together and serve fresh and healthy food. We would love to bring the balance of the four fundamental (sweet, sour, salty and spicy) tastes senses in each dish. All of our secret ingredients are from mom and sister. Our goal is to create new experience of Thai cuisine and Sushi to the community of Winton Salem. Please come joy us for new experience.

The better half had a craving for spring rolls so we used the yelp app and Basil Leaf just happened to be close by.

Our appetizers were of course fresh spring rolls which were Great and fried spring rolls which were good.
I ordered the panang curry with shrimp, just the right amount of sweet and heat.
The better half went with pad thai w/pork and enjoyed her huge serving.

The restaurant is clean and the staff is very friendly and it was peaceful and quiet at 4:30 on a Sunday.

I think I may be in the minority of reviewers in thinking that this restaurant is a little overpriced. My husband and I shared a tuna sushi platter at lunch. The sushi was very good but there wasn't a whole lot of it for almost $22.00! We left the restaurant still hungry and laughingly said "so where are we going for lunch now?"

Service was very good and the restaurant is very clean and inviting.

This restaurant, tucked away in a strip mall, may be Winston-Salem's best Thai food offering. Excellent rice & noodle offerings, including Pad Thai, as well as green and red curries. The stir-fries are very good and all dishes will be tailored to your heat tolerance. The sweet sticky-rice dessert with mango is to die for. Jasmin tea was a bit weak and watery even after steeping for a long time.

We made our first trip this week for lunch. The restaurant is sleek with windows facing outside seating with flowers.
Spring rolls cooked to perfection were brought for starters. I had Pad Thai with chicken. It was a most generous portion beautifully presented. My guest had a stir fry with shrimp also beautifully presented. The service was excellent and at the same time friendly.
Save room for dessert...many good options.
Looking forward to returning for another food adbenture.
Suggestion...fresh flowers on table instead of artificial. Soy sauce on table.

The whole experience was tops. The service/food 10 out of 10.
Will go back for more. The heat was perfect on all the dishes..not so hot it overpowered the taste.
