I happened upon Bill Ellis Barbeque after stopping for gas. They advertised themselves as being world famous, but am not sure how they gave themselves that title as it would be hard pressed to find anyone outside of North Carolina who has even heard of it. It was definitely popular with the locals, as they were lined up almost all of the way to the street at the drive-thru.
If you choose to eat inside, you only have the option for the buffet. You can get a to-go box which is weighed by how much food you get. While there was a wide selection of food, both the barbeque and chicken were average at best. I've had better barbeque at fast food restaurants. The interior was not very welcoming either, as it was tables thrown together.
I wouldpass by this restaurant and find another. There was nothing good about it.
