“A most positive surprise!!”
Reviewed May 4, 2003

We were in Wilmington and decided to spend the night. Having seen many B&B's in the historic district we decided to check them out, before going to motel row. Being on a budget we were limited in what we could spend. We visited several, Verrandas, Graystone, Front Street inn, and Catherine's Inn. After seeing all the possibilities, we chose the Rosehill Inn. Even though it was more money than we initially wanted to spend. Having stayed at many B&B's both here and abroad, we were actually excited about Rosehill Inn. From the moment we entered the door, we were amazed at the charm of the decore and the genuine warmth of the innkeeper. Mr. Fietsch's understanding of travel weary potential guests is second to nune.We were warmly accepted into the inn as though we had been there a thousand times before. Not a detail was missed. From a short but very through history of the area, house, and things to do and see famililiarization, to the dinner reservation as we watched, we were self guiding in only a few short minutes. The decor and amenities in the rooms is supurb. The attention to detail by the inn's owner Laurel Jones is amazing. She has put together a romantic package that will make everyone feel special and loved. The food at breakfast was too much fun. Chef Dennis served up a "dinner" in the morning. The fresh fruit was perfectly ripe and tasty. I have never had a better slice of fresh pineapple. The other guest's were wrm and interested in each other. Great conversation and coffee. If you find your plans focusing on Wilmington, NC, the Rosehill Inn is the place to stay. We even paid $30.00 more than we planned on and got a thousand doolars worth of enjoyment in return.Loris and I give the Rosehill Inn a hearty 5 star rating. AAA only gives them a 3 star rating, we cannot help but wonder if the inspector was blind folded, or did not sleep in their fabulous beds.
