I stayed here for three nights - Dec. 20-22. The house is gorgeous and was tastefully decorated for the holidays. The staff was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. My room (the Oleander) was comfortable and very nicely appointed with a spacious two-person shower that felt spa-like. My only complaint is with the 8:30 to 9:00 window for breakfast. I am not a morning person, especially when on vacation. But, with the downtown location, later breakfast alternatives are easy to find.

This was 6th stay. We will not go back! a friend of ours, him and his wife , will not be back , either. it was their 3rd time staying. we stayed this past weekend. breakfast is between 8:30-9am. the last thing some people wanna do is get all dolled up, for breakfast! i have been down for breakfast, many times in flannel pj's! not underwear on my head, a bathing suit, etc..... just simple flannel pj's. they never had a problem w/ it before. sat. morning , i wore flannel pj's. nothing. the friends of ours only stayed sat. night. her husband, on sunday morning skipped breakfast. but, the wife joined me anmy hubby. she came down in flannel pj's also. we, always sit at the smaller table (seats up to 4 people) we never sit at the huge table. well, in the middle of our breakfast the lady (owner), came over and said, u have to leave and go upstairs and put some jeans on, due to health codes. she said nothing else and walked away. we were horrified! we left and went upstairs and didn't return. got our bags packed and left the inn. i can understand if we came down in a teddy or something.!! and, she could have approched us alittle different. the place is nice and all. but, this took the cake!

If you are looking for a luxury inn with wonderful and friendly hosts then look no further than the Greystone Inn. Richard and Marsha Moore will make you feel like a King and Queen! We spent the weekend at this beautiful inn while visiting our daughter at UNCW. From the moment we walked in until we sadly had to leave we thoroughly enjoyed our "visit". The Moore's make you feel right at home. Breakfast was delectable. There was a wedding planned for the Saturday we were there. Unfortunately we were away for the day and didn't get to see any of the festivities but we did get to enjoy the gorgeous flowers that had been part of the celebration. This inn is very convenient to the historic part of Wilmington. We walked to the Ghost Tour on Saturday night.
The bedroom was so pretty and the bed very comfortable. WiFi was available free of charge. Coffee station in the hallway as well as cold soft drinks. There is wine offered in the evening but we weren't there to try it.
We have stayed at many b&b's and plenty of luxury hotels. The Greystone Inn is now one of our favorites.
We loved our stay at this inn and will definitely recommend it to all of our friends. We're anxious to return to Wilmington, not just to see our daughter but to experience the delightful Greystone Inn again.
We have posted several photos of this lovely destination.

In July I took my girlfriend to the Graystone Inn. We had the most amazing weekend of our lives because that weekend I ask my girlfriend to marry me. My fiancé was knocked off her feet as the horse drawn carriage picked us up from the inn and whisked us away on a romantic ride around old Wilmington. The inn keepers were amazing helping me create the most romantic weekend of our lives. The breakfasts were delightful gourmet treats to start each day and the rooms at the Inn were more beautiful then any pictures could show. Truly this was an amazing place for an amazing weekend. If you have a chance to stay at the Graystone don’t hesitate you will love as much as we did.

Thanks, we will never forget our weekend with you.

So glad we were able to return. As always, delicious food and beautiful surroundings. Marcia and Richard are such great hosts. They love their Inn and love what they do! This is one of the best Select Registry Inns for sure.

This is the only place to stay while in Wilmington.

  • Liked — quiet place to relax
  • Disliked — only could stay two nights
  • Tips/Secrets — if you are in Wilminton, stay at the Graystone period.

I booked the Inn as a gift and told the booking person that we would probably change the date of the booking (well in advance).

The booking person failed to mention the Inn's cancellation policy of charging $25 even if you cancel months in advance. Nor is this policy highlighted at booking point on their website. An odd thing to do as an unfair, hidden, irritating little charge like that is really going to tick people off and mar the experience.

Because of it being a gift and not knowing exact dates, we had to cancel, pay the surprise fee and then re-book. My father did like the Inn, but I wouldn't use it as again as I wonder what other funny little charges are not highlighted.

We love to travel and especially enjoy staying in elegant B&Bs. The Graystone Inn goes out of their way to afford their guests beautiful rooms and exceptional gourmet breakfasts. The owners Richard and Marsha really make their guests feel special and even joined us for wine in the evenings and shared some history about their Inn.

To say this B&B enhanced our trip to Wilmington would be the understatement of the year - If you're looking for a wonderfull Inn to stay at in Wilmington, look no further...The Graystone Inn is it!!!
