“Great Breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

Went here on a Sunday and had to wait probably an hour. Was ok, because we just hung out and people watched. Once the food came it was great. Kind of a "divey" old diner, but a neat place. We saw Billy Burke from Revolution (and Twilight) eating there trying to blend in. We didn't want to bother him, but cool nonetheless.

Don't forget you can park across the street in the garage for the first hour for free.

“Awesome little dive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

Simple southern cuisine executed flawlessly. Was lucky to stumble upon this little spot while staying in downtown Wilmington for 4th of July. This is a great breakfast place. Very good food and very reasonable prices. Will definitely visit again next time in Wilmington.

“Who's been voting this place best breakfast?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

My girlfriend and I decided to eat here and see what the hype was about. Safe to say neither of us were impressed.

I had the western omelet and my girlfriend had an omelet as well (peppers, spinach, cheese and mushrooms). We also split a stack of blue berry pancakes. Now on to the experience:

Firstly, my girlfriend's omelet was messed up on twice. 1st time they added onions and the second time they forgot the mushrooms. They don't make omelets here the way most of us are used to. It's like they mix up the cheese and ingredients separately, wait for the egg to cook through, then lay whatever ingredients on top, then fold it over. Lazy, lazy. Speaking of ingredients, they really went overkill with the peppers(on both) and onions in mine. My western omelet was supposed to have ham, but i think i maybe found 4 small pieces. I seriously thought i was eating a vegetarian omelet.

"seasoned" home fries didn't taste seasoned. Just looked browned.

The blueberries that were used in our pancakes were way too tart (even adding syrup couldn't save it) and the batter tasted salty.

Walking towards the restroom i was able to see who was doing the cooking. ALL of them were kids. Either high school or college. It didn't look like a whole lot of experience on the grill.

The restroom here was the weirdest/ghetto-est I've ever seen. The toilets were really old and dirty. The paint was chipping off the walls and obviously hadn't been repainted in a long long time. The sink to wash your hands was on the outside, yes, outside of the restrooms. Sometimes you had to wait in line to even use it. Another thing that i certainly didn't appreciate was having a group of children crowding around a single video game that was right next to the mens restroom.

All in all, we felt robbed when our check came. We couldn't justify the amount of money we spent on such inferior food.

This place inspired me to make a tripadvisor account so i could give a real review.

Voted best breakfast 5+ years.......what a joke HAHA
