We specifically picked this hotel because of its high review average here on TripAdvisor. And it is definitely new, and shiny, with nice furnishings and spacious rooms.

But: We checked in around 6pm, pretty tired from a long day (and a bad night’s sleep at our previous hotel. We figured we would take a nap before dinner. WRONG.

At around 6:50, really loud music started booming through the hotel. First we thought it must be some kind of evening entertainment, but it wasn’t coming from the lobby. Apparently there was a band or DJ in the hotel conference room? It was super loud in the hall outside our room, and way too loud to sleep in our room.

We called the front desk, and they were like oh yeah, sorry, that will be over by 8pm.

I miss the days when the top priority for hotels was peace and quiet for their guests.

Beyond that, although it’s brand new construction, it’s clear that some corners were cut— the person in the room next to ours was watching TV from 10 to midnight, and it was clearly audible in our room. And whenever the room upstairs flushed the toilet, it sounded like a waterfall behind the walls. Some minimal insulation in the walls would be a big improvement.

Dear rossgrady,
Please accept my sincerest apologies for the noise issue that you encountered during your stay. I can understand how the noise would make for a less than peaceful stay. We always try to do our best to make sure that each of our guests has a wonderful stay and I am sorry that we failed you on this trip.

Thank you as well for bringing to our attention the construction issues. I will be sure to forward these along to our maintenance team.

I hope that when your travels bring you back to our area you will give us the opportunity to provide you with the service you have come to expect with Marriott.

We enjoyed our stay. Hotel was quiet and we were both able to sleep well. Convenient location. The staff was very friendly especially at check in. The room was very clean and I am very picky about a clean room. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Springhill Suites is a great hotel! My suite was clean and stylish with a very comfirtable bed. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and courteous. They have a quaint lobby bar if you want to "wine"- down a bit and dining area for breakfast.

The location is close to various shops and restaurants just a few minutes drive away. The beach is about 10 minutes away (in traffic) but even that was a pleasant drive.

I specifically booked with this hotel after finding out that SpringHill offers suites with two queen beds, plus a sofa bed. I was looking for a one night stay in the Wilmington area after having visited the beaches for the day and also wanting to drop in on the downtown Wilmington area. This hotel is in what looks like an industrial/business area, but it was easy to get to, plus it was across the highway from a mall/shops/restaurants. I think it took us about 10-15 minutes to get to the downtown area. The hotel itself is beautiful - very modern and updated. Our suite was very large - in particular the bathroom! We were only here one night, but wished our stay at the SpringHill in Concord would have been in a similar room! Breakfast was great - with lots of options, plus waffles on the weekend. Front desk staff was friendly and courteous.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet.

We stayed here three nights. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is yummy! One morning I had turkey sausage - Delish! One nice feature is it's right across the street from a newer mall. We would stay here again!

Hello Amgiboney,
Thank you for the wonderful review! We are delighted that you had a nice time here at our property. And we can't help but agree with you on the shopping. It is a nice spot to indulge in some "retail therapy". We hope that when your travels bring you back to Wilmington, we will be your top choice. See you again soon!
