If you are looking for something less pretentious in Wilmington that really serves up some of the highest quality seafood, DSOB is the place you want to stop. We had dinner here late on New Year's Eve, and we were very happy to find the place. Our meal started out with the Garlic Horseradish Shrimp. The shrimp are steamed, and then tossed in a creamy horseradish sauce. The sauce isn't heavy at all, and had just amazing flavor. The restaurant is very popular for its oysters, but I just had some the night before in New Bern. Instead, we got two clusters of Snow Crab Legs. They were cooked to perfection, served with melted butter and lemon. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. They were extremely fresh, and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is very funky, painted in all sorts of colors. Each chair has something funny painted on the back like "on parole" or "honeybar." This is a fun place to eat, and the food quality is top notch. We would highly recommend it.

The staff can be a little too relaxed sometimes but it's a very casual shell house. They are pretty generous with the servings and the food is really good

The Dock Street Oyster Bar in downtown Wilmington is casual, relaxed seafood dining for a good price. My teens love the streamed pots and we always order the crab dip. The seafood is fresh and the Bloody Mary's quite tasty. It is a great place to go after a long day on a sandy beach mostly because it is so casual. You can literally throw on a cover-up, slip on your flip-flops and enjoy. It is a small place so I would not recommend it for large parties and can get very crowded at peak dinner times on the weekends. We usually go for an early dinner and walk around enjoying downtown. There are a few small tables outside on the sidewalk but not many. The oysters, raw or steamed are delicious. I highly recommend the chocolate martini as an after dinner 'dessert', yum! Good place to take kids too due to the casual atmostphere though I'm not so sure I would take under 3.
