While traveling through Wilmington, we decided to go through the downtown area for the first time July 17, 2014, and have lunch. We asked a local where to go for lunch and he directed us to the waterfront area where there are several restaurants. The first one we stopped at during our walk on the dock was The George. The menu looked good, there were seats under a large covered patio with fans and a nice view of the river. Our waiter, Potts , was excellent and gave his recommendations. My wife had a bowl of Corn Chowder soup and I had the Spicy Tuna Sandwich. Both were excellent. For people with pets, they had their own section on the lower level of the outdoor patio, separating other diners from the upper level. Thank you for that separation. We would recommend this restaurant for a lunch visit. As we left, I learned they have a excellent local brewed beer, Lone Rider Shotgun Betty. I might have to try that on our next visit.
