“Dining highlight of our trip”

We tried Rx because old friends' son is chef and reviews were good. What a wonderful dining experience! I had the sheepshead and clam entree and husband had the pork chop. My fish was perfect...flakey and flavorful in a delicious broth and the pork chop was really about the best pork chop I have ever tasted...great smokey flavor. The crispy ears were very good as was the creme brûlée. We can't wait to go back to Wilmington just so we can eat at Rx!

“Just What the Doctor Ordered!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

Our party of five had Friday dinner reservations. We started out a couple of blocks away at Wilmington Wines for the Friday evening wine tasting. Upon their recommendation, we purchased three bottles of wine to have with dinner at Rx. Rx waives the corkage fee on bottles purchased at the Wilmington Wines Friday evening tastings. We were seated immediately and they took our first bottle and another to chill them for the courses they were intended to accompany. The staff are approachable, competent, and attentive without being intrusive. Rx's menu is inventive wtih intriguing matchings of locally sourced foods. For example, my first course was a delicous cold soup, local Cottle Farm strawberries, crab meat, with mint, cucumber, and mache. The intense strawberry flavor was balanced by the delicate flavors of mint and cucumber with a mound of tender, sweet local blue crab! We were all pleasantly surprised by the freshness and quality of the locally sourced foods used and the preparation of our meal. You should not miss the opportunity to savour a meal at Rx on your next visit to Wilmington!

“very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Its in a nice setting with plenty of tables. You can get by dressy or casual and not feel uncomfortable. It felt a bit drafty inside. The wines are great as well as the specialty cocktails. As everyone else said before me, the pig ears are great so give them a shot. If the thought of eating ears makes you squeamish just think of them as thin strips of fried bacon drenched in buffalo sauce with an awesome blue cheese dressing because thats what it tastes like. I followed that with more pig, in the form of a wonderful pork chop. Finished it off with the bread pudding which was very, very good. Definitely coming back. They also have complimentary valet.

“Our new favorite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Although Rx has been in business for some time, and we'd gotten rave reviews from our foodie friends, we only got around to checking it out a week ago. We liked it so much we returned this week. Great service, great, inspired, dishes and a cool funky atmosphere. As weird as they sound you have to try the BBQ'd pigs ears. Lip smacking good. Six of us ordered six different main courses and shared bites. Every dish was not only good but had an interesting twist. Nice wine list too or you can bring your own for a $100.00 corkage fee. Check it out!

“What a pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

Nestled in between antique stores, is Hall's drug store. We passed it twice before inquiring to find it housed RX Restaurant. What a find! The décor is sorta 50s, but the bar is spacious and the menu is a shocker. It is changed every day and everything is fresh and obtained from local and nearby farms. The wine list is ample and reasonably priced. It you love a good red, try a zin named Poison. It's a killer. The food was wonderful. We had the swordfish topped with blue crab, red peppers and spinach and the flavors melded sensationally. The salad with strawberries was excellent, as was the side of pan browned potatoes. For those with a gluten problem, this is your place. We'll be back, soon.
