We stopped by here for a pre show drink before an event at Thalian Hall. The atmosphere is exactly what you would want for a laid back enjoyable experience. We tried the mead, which was heavenly.....we'll definitely be back to sample some of the dark beers which look extremely promising.

I like to kick back and enjoy cold, caramel dark style beer with good beer grub. When I do that, I go to Cape Fear Beer and Wine because the dark beer selections are the best in the city and the bartenders can be funny as hell.

The food is good, but since I am there for the dark beer on tap, the overall experience is excellent by my standards if I am going to go out fon the town for a night of good libations.

Front Street Brewery does some things well, so can't knock them. But, for me, its all about the quality of my drink - and man - Cape Fear Beer and Wine just hits it out of the park on tasty suds.

We've been several times and there are always extremely interesting beers on tap and in bottle. It is very low key, nothing fancy. Beware that there is no food available, just GREAT beer and some wine too. The staff is friendly and helpful if you need it. One Sunday, we simply savored our beers while we read books. They have something called "Beer Church" on Sunday and we had to go. We got nifty souvenir beer glasses for enjoying special brews. Some people play games, others enjoy sitting outside at tables and watching the world go by and others watch the tv. The bottom line: if you love interesting beers, this is a must stop!

No matter what style beer you favor, this place probably has it. No frills, just a great watering hole.

This bar is SOOOO much fun! I've never seen to much wine and beer in a bar before. They have EVERY kind of beer one could want, except for the cheap/boring/standard kinds (i.e. Bud). If you don't know what you want, the bar staff is very knowledgable -- tell them what flavors you prefer and they'll find you the bottle that's right for you.
