“Great visit”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

We stayed for 2 nights in early August and had a wonderful time. The room was great in a beautiful home. Excellent location on a quiet street in the historic district and only a short walk to the restaurants and shops on Front, Market and Water streets. The breakfasts were delicious. Very easy location to get in and out of the city and out to Wrightsville Beach

We were guests for 2 evenings and enjoyed every moment. Steven and Paula were welcoming and very gracious, they clearly enjoy what they do! Room was beautiful, cool and comfortable (very welcome on hot, humid August days!) Morning coffee at your door, and afternoon refreshments a special touch. Breakfast was delicious, complete with dessert! Would highly recommend this B&B, and don't forget to say hello to Sparky, the sweetest inn dog I've ever met!

The hosts were delightful, and exactly as stated on the reviews we read. The rooms were nice, superficially clean however. Per hair on all rugs, mirrors were dirty, glasses and silverware were dirty, but quickly corrected when addressed.

We stayed at the Inn for four nights and enjoyed everything about it. Paula and Steven were wonderful hosts. They are fun and a wealth of information on the area. The location can't be beat, It is within walking distance to downtown Wilmington and many historic sites. The breakfasts were outstanding , everyday was something different and three courses at that. You always know you are staying at a top notch place when the beds are comfy and good coffee is at your door at 7AM. We will certainly be back and recommend the Inn to friends and family.

Beautifully preserved historic home graciously hosted by innkeepers Paula and Steven, along with "sparky", the sweetest Inn dog I know! Comfort runs high, and breakfast is a true delight.
I would recommend this haven to romantic couples as well as gathering family. Kudos on a job well done!

We really enjoyed our one night stay. This B&B is has so much love in the air, the gardens and Inn show it too.
The location was perfect and within walking distance to the River area where all the restaurants and shops are.
The breakfast was just right, I cannot eat alot and not just anything...
We had a fresh berry custard that was served warm from the oven, it was so delicious and I am glad that we got to have this since the Mockingbirds in the garden were eating these berries....
Then we had a 1/2 of a toasted English muffin with spinach, tomatoe, egg and bacon, super.!
Fresh squeezed OJ and delicious coffee.
We cannot wait to go back to visit Wilmington and visit with Paula and Steve....

This beautiful historic home in the heart of Wilmington is lovingly maintained by Paula and Steven. They are unequaled in their hospitality and Paula is a terrific cook. All is pristine and the beds are comfy. The front porch is magazine pretty and the hosts know the best places to eat and drink whatever including pooch friendly cafes. This is my only destination when visiting Wilmington as it is for the business man from London who was at yesterday's breakfast. Paula and Steven treat everyone as a special guest. It is a perfect destination.

Room Tip: There is one room on the main level for anyone having difficulty with stairs.

Once home to artist Henry MacMillan, The Camellia Cottage is a high-peaked, Queen Anne shingle house featuring four guest rooms. A long veranda, painted by a local artist, provides a view of the lush garden of azaleas, magnolias, ferns and camellias. Here, great food, gracious service and a friendly atmosphere make for a relaxing guest experience. Greet each morning with coffee at your door and a sumptuous breakfast of fruit, homemade pastries and entree. Paula’s stint as a hotel pastry chef ensures a delightful dining experience. The Crane Suite features an ornate, metal bed, carved fireplace and vibrant color. Formerly the sun room, the bath and dressing area is filled with lush tropical plants. Henry’s Room, featuring a canopy bed and fireplace, reflects the stateliness found in two of Henry’s paintings hanging in the house. Jane’s Room is named after Henry’s mother and features floral designs and vintage photos complementing the four-post bed and fireplace. In the Tuscany Room, the golden glow of the walls and large windows make you think you’re in an Italian villa. Enjoy the fireplace from the whimsical iron bed or soak in the claw-foot tub with a glass of Chianti. ... more   less
