This mansion is so beautiful and full of the distant past life that lived in its space and occupied its delightful exsistance. Such a wonderful tour.

“Interesting Look at a Privileged Life”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2013

The Bellamy Mansion is a beautiful home, and a very enjoyable tour, which begins with a short video about the family and the home. The architecture, history, and "slice of life" information provided by the docent are very interesting if you enjoy learning about history and how the large, priveleged Bellamy family lived. You will notice the lack of furnishings in most of the rooms, but that does not detract from enjoying hearing about the lives of the Bellamy family. At the bookstore there, you can purchase a slim paperback titled "Back with the Tide," which is the memoir of Ellen Douglas Bellamy, which she began at age 85, if you want a more in-depth, interesting look at her life and the life around her in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. {It's worth it to purchase a three-home ticket that includes the Latimer House and Burgwin-Wright Home.}

“Fantastic guide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2013

Wonderul historical home - guide was extremely knowledgeable, and friendly. Was full of extra information and cool caveats. Wished the tour was longer - wanted to take in all the information the guide had to share. I have toured the other historical homes in the area - and the guide was by far the most charismatic and knowledgeable.

“There for a wedding.”

Didn't see that much inside as the wedding was outside. Looked like the interior was undergoing restoration. Grounds were beautiful.

“Historical Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

The fact that this mansion exists is a testament to families and those history lovers who persist in their efforts to make sure our heritage is not lost.

We found the docents very knowledgeable and courteous. There is a lot to remember here.

The restoration is on going and what has been done is excellent and in keeping with requirements for historical restoration.

A must see attraction.
