We visited downtown Wilmington last weekend, and enjoyed our stay here. The City Club is outstanding for dinner, and we were able to walk all over the historic district. The standard rooms are exceptional for the price. Each room offers a charming front porch area with rocking chairs, and the complimentary continental breakfast was delivered on time, and fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful, we would go back!

Very nice place. This is NOT a true bed and breakfast, more like a complex of several buildings that are converted into a hotel complex.
There is no pool, and no restaurant on site. They do have a bar.
However, they have an arrangment with a private club directly across the street where you can dine ELEGANTLY (coat and tie in main room, casual in grill room) for $25 a head (excluding drinks). You can also just have a drink on the porch there. Commanding views. This restaurant is in a 1850 house, and it is worth the stay here just to be able to go to this restaurant, which you would not be able to do otherwise since it is a private club. The rooms at the hotel were very nice. Small (ours was a suite, but it was essentially a hotel room divided in half) with a galley kitchen. COMP BREAKFAST is delivered to your door. Once you get there, park the car. You can walk to EVERYTHING in downtown Wilmington. I will be back!

I recently stayed at the Wilmingtonian for a weekend. We had a great time! The room we stayed in was in the Cinema House. All the rooms in the Cinema House have a movie theme. For my taste, it borders on tacky, but it is refreshing to have decor other than the same old hotel furnishings. The room was clean and comfortable. Our room included a kitchen and washer and dryer. One of the best things about the Wilmingtonian is that is really is in the heart of everything to do in downtown Wilmington. We parked our car on Friday and didn't move it until we left on Sunday! There are cute places to eat and interesting shops just down the block. One fun thing about the Wilmingtonian is that they bring breakfast to your room in these cute little baskets.
The Wilmingtonian is a refreshing break from the corporate hotel blahs.
