Cute property on the outside and in good downtown location. Suite bedroom is roomy. Okay. That is the positives. Bed was so hard I slept on the couch all night, Bed post was broken off and I made a point of telling them at checkin. It had to be seen by maid as it was leaning at an angle very noticeable and in the way of getting in and out of the bed. Bathroom floor had the head of a disposable razor in one corner and a bobbie pin in another area. Very easy to see the floor had not been mopped so my guess was shower had not been cleaned either. Icky. Electrical outlet had lamp plugged in and I used the second plug to plug computer in. The outlet didn't work which I didn't figure out until next day as we were packing to leave, with my non charged computer. Reception was nice and gave a courtesy which was nice but didn't help my uncomfortable stay. Would not stay here again.

Thank you for your review. Again let me apologize, we definitely dropped the ball here. Please know that we took immediate action to rectify these issues. Our housekeeping staff was informed of the items in the bathroom and received additional training including checking power outlets to make sure that only lamps are plugged into outlets that are controlled by light switches. Maintenance staff have fixed the bedpost. We do keep a record on complaints for mattresses and while yours was the first for this particular mattress, we will be keeping an eye on it in the future and will replace if need be.

We're sorry to hear that we didn't meet our own high standards during your stay and we hope that on your next trip to Wilmington you'll give us another chance to show you how great we can be.

I stayed here this past weekend for a wedding and I thought it was adorable. It is an older hotel, but my room was very clean and cozy and I loved the location! It was nice that the office had beverages and snacks available. The front office staff was very nice! There was a gentleman working the night shift and he had his little dog "Biscuit" in there with him...that dog was so cute! It's nice that they are pet friendly! I would def. stay here again!

Room Tip: I don't think they have a pool or fitness center.

Stayed here for a weekend getaway and was very pleased with everything from the location, hotel atmosphere, great customer service, cleanliness and decorations in the room. We stayed in the Captains Quarters room, it even has an electric fireplace! Overall I was very impressed with this place and would stay here again.

It was a pleasure staying. Checking in, they didn't just point where to go, they walked out to make sure we knew where. Rooms are overlooking a courtyard, not a parking lot. Clean room, everything worked, walking distance to about anything. We enjoyed our stay and next time we are that way, we will book again.

We stayed in the Dram Tree House this past Spring for three nights with our one-year-old and large dog. The room was extremely spacious with a separate bedroom perfect when we had to put out young son to bed, and a front porch perfect to relax in the evening while he was in bed. Because we were there three nights we ended up bringing food back to the hotel, which is convenient due to its close proximity to downtown restaurants, as well as the nice kitchenette. The hotel was also very pet friendly which allowed our dog to travel with us for the holiday weekend. While our hotel choices we limited because of having a pet, we were not all disappointed by our stay, and in fact would stay here, again, even traveling without a dog (as were several other repeat customers we met during our stay).

Room Tip: The three upstairs rooms of the Dram Tree House share a large porch with ricking chairs.

Not only was our room clean and AC cold, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were attending a wedding but no children were allowed. We took turns hanging out with our kids in the room and when it came time for food, not many places delivered. When calling the front desk, they offered to go pick up our food as long as we ordered what we wanted and paid for it. I was blown away that they would take care of us like that. The room had everything we needed, even a little kitchen with refrigerator, stove and small dishwasher. It even included dishes and utensils along with a coffee maker. From what I understand not all rooms have the same things so it's important to ask when you book your room. We would definitely come back next time we are visiting.

Room Tip: Call ahead of time and know that most other hotels require two night minimums during season but I do...

We recently stayed here for a wedding event down the street. This hotel is literally steps away from downtown Wilmington bars and restaurants. It is old-but with lots of personality. We stayed in the Maritime House, which was a former convent. You could really feel the spirit there. The room was small, but very well-equipped. I loved the atmosphere with the rocking chairs outside the room. We were traveling with my 85 year-old mother-in-law. The staff was wonderful about finding us a room on the first floor closest to the street. We had a wonderful stay! Recommend if you're ok with older amenities.
