“Friendly & Knowledgable Staff!!!”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

The four of us stopped in here last evening (Thursday 6/11) for a glass of wine before dinner at a downtown restaurant.

We were acknowledged & welcomed immediately and got to select our own seats. We chose a booth on the left as you enter Fortunate Glass. It was perfect for us. Small but intimate sitting.

We enjoyed our wine selections and got helpful suggestions from the staff.

We will definitely return again and again

“The Downtown Wilmington Clubhouse”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

We've been welcomed into Fortunate Glass 2-3 times a week for the past 18 months. The outstanding wine and beer selections are only surpassed by the terrific staff. The small dish menu is ideal for people wishing to avoid complicated, big ticket menus. We look forward to each visit and are never disappointed.

“Fantastic Dessert”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

We are on our annual anniversary trip to Wilmington, and we were fortunate enough to discover this wonderful little wine bar in downtown Wilmington, NC. We each had a glass of wine (red zinfandel and a dessert Riesling) and dessert. My wife had chocolate torte, and it was an absolutely delicious flourless torte with fresh fruit and a berry gastrique. I had a wonderful Coca Cola pound cake, with crème anglaise and candied bacon.

Mmmmmmmm.

We will return and try tapas here soon.

In regards to the atmosphere, I would say that they are a sophisticated destination in a downtown that seems to be full of plastic cups and loud music.

“A very cozy place to have a great glass of wine and relax!”
Reviewed May 21, 2014

There are a lot of bars in the downtown Wilmington area and this place was a breath of fresh air. A very large wine selection by the bottle and glass. I was solo, so I sat at the bar and the staff was very attentive to my needs. I had the Chicken leg confit that was recommended and was absolutely delicious with a glass of wine. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet place to unwind and enjoy a light meal or snack in downtown Wilmington.

“Great little wine bar”
Reviewed May 17, 2014

Loved the atmosphere very cozy. Went to a wine dinner and it started 45 min. Late. Didn't like that much. The food was great. Chef did an impressive job. Ancient peaks was the wine they were promoting can't say we would buy it. The promoter wasn't very talented. He bragged a lot about his life didn't see why. Oh well would go back because the bar was cute and the chef was a keeper!
