We stayed for several hours - until we felt we could not absorb anymore - and yet we did not see the whole exhibit. Since the tour is self paced you can tailor it to your speed and interests. Truly fascinating. Very educational - and provides a great perspective regarding the wonderful people who served our country and a peek at life in a much different time. Makes one proud to be an American. The battleship is amazing.

A self guided tour of a WW 2 battleship the saw some action during the war. I have a new appreciation of the valor of those in the service after being on the ship.

This is a self guided tour. You can spend as little or as long as you want. A lot of history. You can walk thru the whole ship. Younger kids may get board. But my teen enjoyed it!

Spent a few hours aboard the NORTH CAROLINA to kill time before a wedding in the evening. Getting their by river taxi was a fun and provided a unique perspective of the ship right off the bat. Tickets could be considered on the expensive side, but since their is no time limit, it is what you make of it. The experience is a self guided tour which allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted in interesting areas (the armory, galley, gunning stations) and zip through some of the slower spots. The ship is huge and all-in-all occupied us for just over 3 hours. An added bonus was spotting the gators sunning themselves in the shallows off the ships bow. I've visited many old forts, submarines and ships and the NORTH CAROLINA is at the top of the list.

One of our local friends recommended us to go to see the battleship on the way back from Myrtle Beach so we went. Our 9-year-old son was reluctant until we got on the ship. Afterwards he became our leader of the exploration. We spent about 2.5 hours including souvenir shop. We learned a lot and it was good exercise. There are many narrow places and steep stairways. Therefore, it would be hard for old people and people who carry heavy weight.:-)
