“LOVE downtown”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

Artsy, vintage and absolutely worth a day trip downtown and seeing the sites. Just park anywhere and walk up and down the streets for lots of boutique shops, vintage shops and great eats.

“Wilmington's Best”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

The shopping, the ice cream, the boat ride and the views! Sunday, brings out the locals and most have their dogs with them. It's a great place to people-watch too! The food is great and reasonable, especially at Nick's, plus you have a great view of the river from the outside room.

“Lots of food, some tours, historic homes...”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

If you enjoy a waterfront and eating, this is a great place to go. There are many restaurants with a few shops here and there. There is a shopping place in an old warehouse near the waterfront, but this historic district lacks antique shops that many such places have. The downtown is mostly bars and restaurants, though there is a cool vintage clothing shop on the main street. They do have a trolley tour and a river boat tour, both well done and they have many historic houses in the neighborhood. This is a college town, so there are many young people here. It is quite active after dark.

“walk the cobblestone streets”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We visited Wilmington's Historic District in January, so there weren't any crowds and we could walk the cobblestone streets near the river. This area is beautifully preserved, and has shops, cafes, and art galleries.

“Just visiting”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

My husband and I went downton to walk around and grab a bite to eat. There was a bit of construction going on, but the riverwalk area was very nice and there are a lot of scenic streets and areas to drive or walk.
