We were looking for some where new to go and stumbled upon this place. Wow were we blown away. The lunch menu was fantastic. I had salmon sliders and frittes and my date had shrimp salad on a croissant. We both absolutely loved the food and were surprised when we saw how cheap the bill was. This turned out to be the cheapest lunch of our trip and one of the top 3 for our entire trip. HIGHLY recommended.

we were leaving wrightsville beach at lunchtime, and stumbled on this place totally by accident. we are from durham, which has some rather good restaurants, and weren't expecting much - maybe mall-quality food. man, were we wrong about that. the food was excellent. my husband had burgers and fries, which consisted of 4 slider-sized burgers of house-ground beef on brioche buns with carmelized onions - they were some of the best burgers i've ever tasted, and the fries were absolutely delicious as well. i had a build your own salad, which i needed after a couple of days of fried seafood. the ingredient list was large, varied and imaginative, and everything was fresh and very good (especially the extra serving of blue cheese dressing - chunky and wonderful.)

the place is handsome and low key, with lots of civilized touches. the iced tea came with simple syrup so i could adjust the amount of sweetness. there are the 2 bathrooms - one women's, one unisex. the tin ceiling tiles are lovely. bandoneon music was playing.

i wish this place was a little closer - i'd be a loyal regular. as it is, it will be a go to spot when in wilmington.

Most important to me is the quality of the food and everything I've had here has been prepared in a way that is tender and extremely flavorful. I'd definitely give it gourmet status. Never had a poor dish. Love that you can build your own salad choosing the ingredients you like and a wide selection of delicious sides like au gratin potatoes, Mac n' cheese and sauteed spinach. The short ribs are a favorite of mine. Love the little desserts...a dark chocolate mousse if I don't have much appetite left or a couple of these lovely little finishes to the meal. My sisters always save room for the coconut cream pie. It is a warm inviting atmosphere, only issue just a little bit noisy.
