We spent 2 days in this ideal bed & breakfast and we were just delighted from beginning to end. We stayed in the Mardi Gras Suite, which is a perfect combination of comfort, beauty and countryside style. The breakfast was an exquisite selection of fruits, homemade quiche and breads, cereals, milk, orange juice and coffee. The place was spotless and everything you can think of included. Chloe, the innkeeper was very pleasant and available for anything you may need. I truly recommend this location for any couple looking for a 5 star countryside getaway

This was a pleasant surprise. Chloe, the innkeeper is darling and does everything to make you feel like family. The town is small, but the restaurants nearby were nice. However, Chloe's breakfast beats it all!!!

From the moment we pulled into the drive of Big Mill B&B we knew we were going to be delighted - we were right! Chloe Tuttle, our innkeeper, was the epitome of Southern hospitality. She immediately took us to our room, the Mardi Gra Suite, and we fell in love at first sight. Not giving us a chance to catch our breath, she then whisked us into a quick tour of her gorgeous grounds and the attractions there and the history. Our suite was conducive to rest and relaxation and we did exactly that, taking a nap on the comfortable sofas and later we settled in to catch up on some reading. We were so contented with our suite that we really didn't want to leave to go explore the town of Williamston but we forced ourselves to go out and have dinner. We wasted no time in coming back to our suite to enjoy the many amenities. We'd like to mention that Chloe has a unique way of serving breakfast; she brings it to your room the previous day between 4 - 6pm and you put it in your refrigerator and it's there for you to eat the next day. That way, you can get up on YOUR schedule and since my wife and I are not "morning people" this was great! Chloe calls her breakfast "continental" but don't confuse it with simply coffee and a pastry, it's far beyond that! She served us her home made cereal mix, quiche, fresh fruit compote, English muffins with her home made jam, all made with items grown on her farm - how cool is that??? We also had orange juice and milk with our breakfast and your kitchenette is well-stocked with a variety of coffee and teas for your pleasure. After we enjoyed her more than ample breakfast we took a stroll around the grounds, taking lots of photos, and enjoyed the pond with the romantic bridge. We can't say enough good things about Chloe and Big Mill Bed & Breakfast, can't imagine anything any nicer. Our suite was spacious, airy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Try Big Mill Bed & Breakfast for a truly unique experience! Jim & Lyn - Durham, NC

Right from the start a most relaxing time!! Although we have visited Big Mill before, this was our first stay in the Mardi Gras Suite, just lovely. Our gracious host Chloe still had a scrumptious array of breakfast treats. We enjoyed eating at the patio right outside the suite. I did some fishing, caught two by the way. We took a wonderful stroll of the beautiful property and watched the Humming birds. And for the beach lovers, enjoy a day trip to the Outer Banks. This is a great location to sit back enjoy and get away from it all, play games, read and reconnect.

Room Tip: Corncrib Room or The Mardi Gras Suite

On our way from Greenwood, South Carolina, We found this wonderful bed and breakfast. It is a diamond in the middle of no where. The suite is spotless as is the entire bed and breakfast. It is decorated with great taste and warmth. The beds are comfortable. Everything is controlled by electronic switches with the directions right next to the switch. The fireplace would be perfect for a cool evening. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The lake, the gardens and all the different birds help to make this a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Chloe, the owner, is delightful and so interesting. She gave us a tour of the grounds and the other rooms which are different and equally special. This property has been in her family almost a 100 years and was once a tobacco plantation. Each room has a separate entrance. Chloe brought us breakfast in the morning which we ate at our cute kitchen table overlooking the lake. It was vey good. The home made jam was so good that we purchased 4 jars. The price for the nite was a real value. Nearby you can find Vollis Simpsons world famous Whirligigs and if you find it then you can eat at Parkers Barbecue Restaurant which is close by in Wilson

Room Tip: The Mardi Gras Suite is a truly wonderful suite

I would not know where to start with what I/we loved about Big Mill. Read the reviews that come before this one and you will undoubtedly get a feel for what you can expect and NOT be disappointed! The Mardi Gras suite caused us both to take a deep breath as it delighted us with surprise even though we felt that all we had read before gave a us a good mental picture...really they just whetted our appetites! The fire place, the brick floors of the main room, the Spanish tiles of the bathroom with amber colored window that invites every ray of sunshine! The comfy beds and bath robes! The creative wooden pizza/paddle boards with which to record your thoughts and thanks in lieu of a guest book. The view outside our double doors of a beckoning wicker swing for two, the beautiful bridges across the way (lit up at night!) that you and your sweetie can discover. Logs to start your own fire in the barn's fireplace, Chloe's garden, the "Welcome Menu Board" that has the anticipated guests' names chalked on them... So many little things that make the bigger things seem a little less significant because they are so special and thoughtful.

Great for a romantic getaway, anniversary or honeymoon. All rooms have private entrances and we were able to view two other suites: The Corn Crib and The Packhouse. All have their unique and beautifully appointed ambiance. Big Mill is a welcome divergence from the plethora of B&Bs out there that hurt your eyes when you look at the photos of rooms that don't look like they have been updated in years! A wonderful mix of old world, Spanish, European and colonial influences! You just can't get enough of the place, or the homemade, mostly home grown fruit, granola, jams, bread, quiches...

Do something blissfully unforgettable for you and your sweetie... spend some time at Big Mill Bed & Breakfast!

Room Tip: For a little extra room to stretch out, book the Mardi Gras or Packhouse suites. All are beautiful b...
