“Rest for the Road Weary with a dog”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

Our family contacted this hotel after nearly 5 hours on the road traveling with two kids and a dog. We did not plan ahead and took a risk with a pet. On the phone, the night receptionist was friendly, helpful and had the answer that we were looking for. Yes, they would accept our overnight stay with our dog. We were a little concerned about the condition of our room having never traveled with a dog, but when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. Our room was wonderful, clean, and comfortable. The entrance to our room was near an exit with a wonderful patch of grass, and although we were prepared with our own "animal waste" bags, it was great to see that there was a supply available for our use if needed. Our stay was restful and quiet. My kids (11 & 12) repeatedly commented on the fluffiness of the pillows. The breakfast area was clean, cheerful, and cozy. The dining staff was warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious, a wonderful range of items. Their scrambled eggs were fantasic! Our family plans on traveling this way again, and we'll be certain to spend time here again.

Each week I have had the pleasure of staying at this establishment for at least one night a week when traveling from Charlotte for business. Every member of the Holiday Inn team greets patrons with a smile: from the time you walk in the door at the front desk (Clara, Joyce, Erich,Chris,Donna, and Laura), and anytime you pass staff member throughout your stay. When the housekeepers pass me in the evevators or hall (Betty,Tina, Kathy, MaryAnn, Pansy, Lisa, Sherrie) they are ever so sweet, if I should need anything extra, or if I have left anything behind; they have even helped to find even a tiny earing! And Rick, the maintenance man is always around, fixing something. I can't forget a special "shout out" to Linda who runs the Breakfast Bar, and keeps it impeccable (even with the mess that men make!). I don't know how she does it. And, Clara needs some extra credit too. She really stays on top of everything...and I mean everything. From wake up calls to credit card charges. This team runs a tight ship and anyone that stays at this Holiday Inn Express will have an EXCELLENT experience.

Room Tip: I have stayed on floors 1, 2, and 3 in King and Double Rooms. Every Room is a "good" room...

Went there for a scrapbook retreat threw NC Scrapbook Crops and Retreats in March 2013. The hotel staff was great. Super quick and easy check in. The event room was easy to access and the staff was willing to help out in any way they could. The breakfast was great! I really loved the selection of juices, normally you don't see cranberry juice, apple and grape, you are lucky to get one choice! The room was clean and the maid service did their job well, no complaints! I look forward to being able to make these events again since there is one in the fall and spring each year. Within walking distance to Taco bell. Walmart and other fast food and dine in areas easily accessible.

Check in was super quick and the lady at the desk was very warm and welcoming. the hotel itself was very clean and quiet. our room was on the third floor .it was very clean and very well taken care of. there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room which was great. the beds were comfortable but I will say the pillows were not. they were very small but they were many of them on each bed. we ate breakfast the next morning and it had a lot to choose from. Cheezy omelets ,bacon ,biscuits, french toast and a neat pancake maker. of course there was grits, oatmeal and all of the other items that you would come to find at a hotel for breakfast. the breakfast area was very large and clean very well taken care of by The Breakfast attendant. the hotel is located in town near a lot of restaurants. a Taco Bell is right next door. got a great deal on Priceline for this hotel and only paid 59 dollars.

Yes, we stayed 3 weeks; our house was flooded. The staff became friends. One nearly cried when we left. Breakfast was such a joy to have every morning with our large family. The eating area is very clean and the ladies who prepare breakfast are perfectly kind and hospitable. The only complaint I could have is that I'm addicted to cinnamon rolls now. The maintenance man was friendly and very adept at his job. The managers were accomodating to no end and made sure we remembered the catered supper every Tuesday: first come, first serve. The kids enjoyed the trek down to the lobby every evening for fresh Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. Housekeeping smilingly did just what I asked them to, checking in on us to keep the room stocked and fresh smelling. We were thrilled to get free passes to the local Y's facility, including the indoor pools. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. If we don't ever have to stay locally again, we will still stop in to see how our friends are doing.

Room Tip: We had the 3rd floor suite and it worked for us.

Very nice room, when we opened the door, you could smell clean! The mattresses need to be replaced though. They were wore out and not real comfortable.

Breakfast was super! Hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy plus all the regular cold stuff.

We will stop by again next time but will check out beds first!

We chose this hotel based on the reviews on Trip Advisor, and they were right on target! The rooms are comfortable and clean, no road noise, great cookies served all day at the main desk, newspaper under the door in the morning. Good wifi, fitness center and business center. Breakfast was very good, though we would prefer a waffle maker over the pancake maker. Cinnamon rolls were excellent! Great service! They also accomodated to our request to be on the first floor, something we seldom get! Too cold to use the outdoor pool, but it looked small.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are farther from the road, so maybe less noise?
