Ralphs is a big, busy barbecue restaurant only a couple of blocks off I-95. The main feature of Ralphs is an expansive buffet that includes everything from traditional chopped Carolina 'cue to fried chicken. You can get the chopped pork barbecue dressed with traditional vinegar based sauce that is apparently cooked over wood or charcoal because there's a hint of smoke. The pulled pork is available with either the same sauce or a red western Carolina sauce that's traditional to pulled pork from that state. Each table gets a basket of hush puppies.
In addition to the buffet, the restaurant has menu choices that include barbecue sandwiches and other items along with a list of sides. The menu items are served quickly, and are very reasonably priced. The service is friendly and helpful, and will explain things to newcomers. It's the perfect solution to eating on 95 because the food is good, you can eat quickly if you want to, and it's a refreshing stop. This restaurant is well worth the visit.
