Ralphs is a big, busy barbecue restaurant only a couple of blocks off I-95. The main feature of Ralphs is an expansive buffet that includes everything from traditional chopped Carolina 'cue to fried chicken. You can get the chopped pork barbecue dressed with traditional vinegar based sauce that is apparently cooked over wood or charcoal because there's a hint of smoke. The pulled pork is available with either the same sauce or a red western Carolina sauce that's traditional to pulled pork from that state. Each table gets a basket of hush puppies.

In addition to the buffet, the restaurant has menu choices that include barbecue sandwiches and other items along with a list of sides. The menu items are served quickly, and are very reasonably priced. The service is friendly and helpful, and will explain things to newcomers. It's the perfect solution to eating on 95 because the food is good, you can eat quickly if you want to, and it's a refreshing stop. This restaurant is well worth the visit.

As other's have said here, Ralph's barbeque buffet is an almost "must-stop" restaurant on I-95 and we try to time our occasional trips through the area to coincide with lunch. The North Carolina pulled pork is about as good as it gets with just the right amount of "bite" in the vinegar sauce. Some have mentioned that the veggies are all overcooked, but that is the southern way. If you don't like well-cooked veggies (and they have LOTS!), this may not be your cup of tea. But if you like good, old fashioned, southern cooking (they also have great fried chicken), this is THE place to stop if you are traveling in northern North Carolina. Bring your appetite!!

We travel the Route 95 corridor several times a year. We always time lunch and or dinner around a stop at Ralph's. Carryout opens early in the morning before the restaurant, so many times its just to grab a couple sandwiches, hush puppies and a couple pieces of chicken. Other times its a needed break from the car and we go in and sit for their delicious buffet. Caution is advised, you will need a siesta if you go in and dine on the buffet. it is very good.

I have tried many different BBQ places and this one is the BEST! You cannot beat the tangy flavor of their seasoning nor the delicious collard greens. We make a stop at Ralph's everytime we travel that way. Not sure why they open at 9 a.m. because the food is not available until 9:30ish but we are more than happy to wait on it.

Ok. Truckers they have some truck parking and rvs fith wheeles.this not bad food 100% better than truck stop food. This eastern NC bbq place is on my top ten places to eat. Wow the greens were great. That Banana pudding was as home made as any grandmamas can make. Price was good same as Golden Corrals or Old Country Buffet
