We have been to Well Bred many times. So, it was a given that we would then want our wedding cake to come from the best bakery we know. So, we worked with Lauren...the owner, to make a beautiful but simple cake for our small intimate wedding. We had a two tiered vanilla bean and raspberry cake. It was PERFECT. There were real raspberries in there. haha. All our guests were blown away by the cake, the icing and mostly the freshness. It was so light, that everyone loved how it wasn't heavy and didn't make them feel overly full. It was very organic and fresh. The outside of the cake was textured for a rustic feel. I just LOVED it. Thank you Lauren and Well Bred for making the most beautiful Wedding Cake for our special day. :)

They have so many desserts you'll spend several minutes trying to decide with one(s) you want. Good coffee. Can be a little busy/hectic looking in there at times but it's worth it. You get your own water/forks/napkins and bus your own table. Outside is really nice when it's not too hot and you remember to bring your sunglasses. They also have meals, but their menu isn't very big. They used to have a delicious turkey bacon brie panini with cranberry sauce that I would love to see back on the menu (hint hint) but the new menu is pretty good too. Great quinoa salad. Always fresh fruit. Usually a good soup. They make really good cappuccinos. Cool sink fixtures in the bathrooms. If you're going to Weaverville, definitely make a point to stop in here before you leave. You'll probably want to stop in a few times :)

All the food and the pastries in the cases looked delightful and tasty, however, the chicken salad croissant that I ordered was just simply awful.

The croissant was hard, perhaps a bit old, and did not taste good. And the chicken salad was pretty much inedible!

How do you screw up a chicken salad? And what you do to a croissant to take away that light, flaky delightful croissant experience?

For dessert I ordered three round almond cookies, and congruent with the main course, the flavor was quite distasteful.

I will not return to this establishment.

I can not say enough to rave about this bakery in Weaverville..it is one of a kind. Locals as well as tourist line up for delectable gems at this small but grand establishment. Do not miss the eclairs...wow! Also great deli area..and yummy sandwiches! I may think of moving to Weaverville just for that Well Bred bakery.

Weaverville is such a lucky little town to have this gem of a place. We absolutely love having lunch here. It can get busy (be sure to grab a number when you come into the door), but once you taste your food you'll know why it is so. The salads are creative and flavorful. The sandwiches are filling. The cookies are soooo tempting but my downfall is the mountain eclair. It's now a "must have" every time we are in the area. The eclair is almost the size of my head and I don't even want to think of the calories, but we're in the Asheville/Weaverville area only once or at most twice a year so at least it isn't too frequent of an indulgence. Yum!
