The Waynesville Inn, Golf Resort & Spa
Ranked #3 of 8 Hotels in Waynesville

First, it is important to know that the Waynesville Inn is really more like 3 different hotels: The main building is a historic lodge with rustic decor, two dining options and a bar, and is quite charming. There are also two styles of buildings that are separate, including cottages:
The newest of these are exceptional, have suite-style rooms, semi-private patios, and lovely views of the golf course and mountains. (This is where we ended up staying).
The other option you should avoid. The oldest separate buildings are dated, and the rooms are small, dingy and unpleasant. Make sure when you make reservations to ask which building you will be staying in.
We had some confusion when we arrived regarding our reservation. The hotel was full and we ended up "trying out" all three styles of rooms. The management staff was extraordinarily helpful and accommodating in dealing with some issues that were completely out of their control. They provided us with drinks while they were sorting out rooms and in the end we ended up with the perfect location.
This inn is clearly a golfers destination; we are not golfers, but found it equally perfect for our leisure vacation. Location is great for exploring the areas natural attractions!

Anticipated a great resort in the Western North Carolina Mountains. As we appraoched I changed my mind. Accommodations were varied, we were in Golf View so we could have a porch overlooking the golf course. Planned on playing golf while wife was at a art seminar for the week but found the place crawling with senior golfers. So instead of playing I get the chance to watch them try and hit the par 3 in five or six shots. Big disappointment. The town is nothing like the buildup in the books and brochures.

I had a staff meeting for our leadership prior to a larger event at another facility. We loved the Waynesville Inn - very relaxing and enjoyable. Great breakfast every day and friendly helpful staff. The spouses were able to go and enjoy the quaint town nearby while the staff met; the guys loved the golf; we had a buffet luncheon for 40 people and everyone enjoyed the food and service.

I can't say enough about the great visit we had to the Waynesville Inn. This is an older motel, so the rooms are very large. Everything was clean. The food at the two restaurants was outstanding! Breakfast was included with our stay, and it was a very good buffet with an omlet station. The staff was very friendly, and the views were beautiful. The pool is very small, so that may be a concern for some families. We loved it! Stay here if you can! It was a great value, too!

We had an outstanding time this weekend at WCC! The course, accomodations and staff were above and beyond my high expectations and I can't say enough about them. In particular, the condition of the golf course and the way our group was treated as we trecked around it. Of the 100 holes we played, not one time did we role around a nine to find a group that had tee'd off in front of us, well managed, we appreciate those details. The restaurant and bar staff was friendly and the food was great. The brookside accomodations were perfect, especially since all of our competition rounds came down to dogwood #9 (right next to our front porch!). We have been doing this trip for several years now (all at different locales), but all agree this was the best and it will very likely be the first repeat!

My wife and I just visited the Inn and really enjoyed ourselves. The golf course was great for our intermediate skill level and the mountain views were to die for. Our deluxe room had a balcony overlooking the course and was very comfortable. The town of Waynesville is charming with all the shops and artist studios. We will be back in the spring for sure.

We had a great stayover here. We were on our way to Charlotte and stopped for the night. A beautiful setting and immaculate room. We stayed in the Golfview rooms and it was very spacious. Free country breakfast in the dining room was very good. We had dinner in the Tap Room- good informal dining. The formal dining is not open for dinner until May. Glad we stopped here rather than a cookie cutter hotel on the highway. We'll be back.
