Without a doubt the best B&B we have ever stayed at.
(December 2002)
Everything about this place is perfect from the time you arrive until the time you leave.
We had our Breakfast in our room each morning, and it was fantastic.
The house was all decked out for Christmas, they even had holiday music piped into your room( which you could control)
The grounds and the house are emaculate.
Will go again, most likely the smae time of year!
Quite & peacful!

One of our favorite wedding gifts has been a weekend stay at the Yellow House on Plott Creek Road. What a relaxing & enjoyable indulgence! The hosts, Donna & Steve, are charming - helpful & welcoming without being intrusive. The inn staff is friendly, capable & eager to please. The grounds are lush and well-maintained but not so manicured that you can't walk through the grass barefoot. I dare you to resist the lure of the hammocks - it was hard to pull ourselves out of them, but dinner on the beautiful front porch was well worth getting up for! The meals were delicious, tastefully presented & cheerfully served. We loved our accommodations (the E'staing suite); it seems that Donna & Steve have thought of everything. From luxurious bed linens to the beverages in the fridge, reading lamps to candles for a little romance, no detail is overlooked. And the bathrobes are to die for! It was disappointing to have to put on clothes in the morning. We appreciated that the atmosphere was luxurious & gracious without being pretentious or ostentatious. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. We can't wait to go back!

Spent my anniversary weekend (5/14) at the Yellow House in Waynesville. The drive beyond Asheville (about 40 minutes) is 99.9% interstate but is just gorgeous; as you move west the road winds so close to the mountains you feel like you can almost reach out and touch them. The house is located about 2 miles from downtown Waynesville, and about a half mile from Laurel Ridge Country Club--for those who like to golf. My husband and I stayed in "Windward," one of the newer rooms (added on to the main house) and we were very pleased with the whole experience. This place will appeal to those who like going places that are upscale without being pretentious. The Yellow House was built in the 1880's but has been rennovated and/or added onto by several generations of owners and has obviously been well cared-for. The current owners, Steve, a solar engineer and Donna, a self-described "recovering attorney," have only been there about six weeks but run the place like seasoned veterans. We felt very relaxed and welcome there. The rooms are all very clean and tastefully decorated. I especially liked some of the antiques in the common areas in the main house. I saw no TV's (yea!!). Instead, there is a well-stocked library where guests may borrow books to read. A butler's pantry in the main house is always stocked with "munchies." Bottled water and juice are available in the in-room fridge at n/c. Wine and light appetizers were served on the porch about 6 p.m. It was very pleasant spend part of the evening on the house's big, sunny front porch with a glass of wine chatting with the owners and other guests. Each morning, a friendly staff delivered a gourmet breakfast to our room (complete with fresh cut flowers) and my husband and I ate it while lounging on our balcony overlooking a small pond. The grounds are pretty and well-groomed without being overdone and there is a double swing down at the pond where you can sit and relax. If you get bored with relaxing, a notebook in each room is helpful for find all kinds of area activities from tubing to university performances, with specific directions to each. It also has descriptions and directions to local area restaurants. While shopping in downtown Waynesville, picturesque little mountain town with a couple of bookstores and lots of little art galleries, my husband remarked that Waynesville might well become the next Blowing Rock.
