“A great B&B”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

We spent two nights there recently.
The entire stay was pleasant. The bed was great, the food was excellent, the location is good.
Shawn, the innkeeper was outstanding on giving info on places to eat and things to do.
The 5:00 wine and cheese was very enjoyable. You could meet the other guests, and talk way past dinner time.
we will be going again soon.

My significant other and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Yellow House. Shawn, the manager at this house, was so very helpful. He was kind and eager to provide anything we needed (and he did! I had forgotten my toothbrush, and he had backups!). He is very knowledgeable of things to do around Waynesville. Every evening, there is wine and snacks available for all of the guests. It was a pleasure to speak to other guests staying in the house. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and very well decorated. It was not stuffy or outdated, as are some B&Bs I've visited in the past. The food was marvelous. The property is beautiful as well! There are many places to walk and have a sit. I enjoyed every aspect of this trip and I owe all of it to Yellow House!

Room Tip: We stayed in the E'staing Suite upstairs. It was lovely! There was a living room separated byt a...

The Yellow House is an amazing spot to go, relax and enjoy great customer service. Shawn makes the trip worthwhile with his guided tour, hospitality, stories and of course his breakfast. It felt so much like home. I recommend this to anyone who really want and need a great place to get away and relax. Hats off to Shawn and his team!

Room Tip: Any room is a great room at The Yellow House.

We learned about The Yellow House via a Groupon and jumped at the chance to visit Waynesville for our 42nd wedding anniversary. From the moment we drove up to the house and met Shawn, our stay was one of the best we have experienced. Shawn gave us a tour of the house, showing us in detail where everything was located and then did the same with our room. Everything was well maintained and spotless.

Our room was the Windwardside, in an addition to the main house, which let us park at the door to our room….that allowed us to be on the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway at sunrise without disturbing others. The room was comfortable with its own refrigerator (complete with soft drinks, juices, and bottled water), coffee maker, Yellow House mugs, piped in music and a balcony which overlooked the pond.

The Butler's pantry in the house was stocked with fruit, snacks and freshly baked cookies, hot tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. There was an ice machine and a microwave in the pantry. Books, DVD movies, a portable DVD player, and a laptop for checking e-mail were also provided. Also provided were menus for the restaurants in town.

The front porch, with its rocking chairs, was a gathering place in the afternoon for guests to meet and chat during our days there, especially about 5 o’clock when wine and cheese were provided. Meeting and talking with other guests is one of the benefits of a B&B for us.

Breakfast was served on the porch, dining room, or in your room if desired. The breakfast was fresh fruit, egg soufflé, and bacon one day, and fresh fruit, stuffed French toast, and sausage the next. Both were excellent and quite filling as we did not eat again until dinner each day. The only “problem” with breakfast was the scent of bacon wafting through the house well before breakfast time!!!! We were definitely ready to eat when served.

While you may be tempted to while away the day on the front porch, walking the grounds or just sitting by the pond, there is much to do in the area. The Yellow House is only a 7-8 minute drive to the center of Waynesville which has galleries, a variety of shops, and many fine restaurants. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 10 minute drive from the house and it quickly climbs to overlooks of the valleys below regardless of which direction taken. Asheville is about 35 minutes away. There was list of several pages provided in the rooms on recommended drives in the area.

Shawn was an excellent host, down-to-earth, and willing to answer any questions. He put us at ease and made us feel at home from the start. In fact, all members of the staff were friendly and helpful…their service could not have been better.

It was easy to see why several of the other guests had been to The Yellow House multiple times, and why it will definitely be included in our future visits to the Waynesville area.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a very relaxing, restful and quiet time away at the Yellow House. The amenities were just right, breakfast at a time of your preference, excellent food and cheerful service.

I recommend this as a great time to get away from the busyness of life and enjoy some time together with your spouse.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at The Yellow House. We stayed in the Carriage House suite and it was the best. The room is huge, with a comfortable bed and 2 person jetted tub. There's a private balcony with rocking chairs. Relaxing music plays in the room at all times. The staff is super great and friendly. This is the best bed & breakfast we've ever stayed at. We did not want to leave. We will be back...soon!

The Yellow House offers gourmet meals, comfy accommodations, and five-star customer service. Boasting beautiful, tranquil views, the rooms are extremely clean and come in several layouts. Breakfast is served in your room, in the dining room, and on the porch, which overlooks the serene Great Smoky Mountains. This B&B is conveniently located about 30 minutes outside Asheville so sightseeing there as well as other nearby towns in easy. Downtown Waynesville also is a treasure-trove of quaint shops ranging from children's toys to tea and spices, and enough variety of restaurant fare to suit the pickiest palate. We plan to make this destination an annual visit and will only stay at The Yellow House!

Room Tip: The Pool House or downstairs room for maximum privacy.
