“Simply wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

We liked everything about it--ease of securing reservation, welcome when we arrived, warm atmosphere, food from chef's own farm and other local sources, superbly prepared. Great atmosphere, wonderful time! Every aspect of the "dining out" experience is tended to here; our waiter, Shane, was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. Creates such a good atmosphere!

“Excellent food!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

I love pasta, so this is one of my favorite places to eat. The pasta is made fresh when you order your dinner, and there's no mistake about it, their pasta is great. I've had several different dishes there and all of them are fabulous. The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. We actually saw a really famous person there once!

“Delicious and Attentive - what more could anyone ask for”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

We arrived and Shane, our waiter, greeted us and took us to our table. The restaurant is small and intimate and we were offered wine. We each got a glass of wine and had our water glasses filled.

Shane was very attentive, always checking on us and making sure we had whatever we needed.

I ordered a romaine lettuce salad that was lightly grilled with pecans, cheddar and a delicious balsamic sauce. I then had a chicken dish with locally sourced goat cheese, and mashed potatoes. Everything arrived to our table HOT, the owner/chef could not be any more accessible if we had wanted, and everything was cooked to perfection.

You can tell that the staff and owners take pride in what they put out and care. Further, they source locally grown product, which is always a bonus for freshness, and we could not find a complaint or criticism if we tried.

Well done, we will be back when we are next in the area!

“Good place for a special occasion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

Chef's Table is a TINY, well appointed restaurant in downtown Waynesville and is only open for dinner. Make reservations. And plan on searching for a parking place for at least 20 minutes beforehand. Waynesville has a delightful downtown scene, and parking is limited, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. The restaurant makes its own pasta, so we came prepared to order it. I had "black and blue" pasta, which involved blackened sliced sirloin (cooked medium rare and very tender) with medium wide ribbon pasta in a gorgonzola alfredo sauce. It was delicious. My husband ordered eggplant parmesan, which was served on penne pasta. It was okay, not superb. The sauce was bland. The salads sounded enticing, but they were a la carte, and we didn't order any. The entree servings were large. We ordered one slice of layered sponge cake with lemon curd and raspberry jam, topped with cream cheese frosting. A hit. The desserts are made off site at a nearby local bakery, and they are exclusive to the restaurant and probably different every night. The service was very good, and the pace of the meal was just right -- about an hour and a half. Even though the restaurant is small, they don't overbook the tables and don't rush the diners.

“Great evening, amazing food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Last night we had out of town guests who have dined thru out the country and Europe and we wanted to take them to a nice local restaurant. "The Chef's Table" did not disappoint! We started with a nice champaigne and the artichoke heart "starter" which was cooked perfectly with a crisp panko crust. We then choose a nice chianti and each of us picked a different entree so we could taste each others selection. The "Deconstructed Lasagne" was really a good choice, delicious, and very original. The grouper piccata was done perfectly with a light crisp crust and light lemon sauce, another great choice was the Creamy Chicken Marsala. The portions were generous, and so delicous we had to decline the dessert. I would highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions and when or when desiring something extra special. Our waiter was extremely personable and helpful; great evening, great food, great service, exceptional chef.
