Location, location, location. The inn's tag line is "at the peak of the Parkway," and that's true: the views are fantastic from all of the rooms (as far as I could tell), and from the dining room. This inn is convenient to many good hiking trails (we climbed Mt. Pisgah; you can walk the Buck Spring Trail right from the inn; and it's a short drive to other popular spots such as Graveyard Fields). We reserved the Pisgah Room, the one suite offered by the inn, and it was worth it--room to roll out your yoga mat! We used the fireplace and enjoyed having the extra living space since we were there for more than one night. In the mountains, you should expect a slightly rustic atmosphere, and that's what you get: well-worn rocking chairs and no phone (you can request a "wake-up knock" on your door, rather than a call, if necessary). Relax and absorb the ever-changing panoramic view of the misty mountains from your private balcony (separated from others' by a panel that isn't sound-proof, but so what). The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and there were even 2 TVs. The bathroom's a little small, but that didn't matter to us. Guests of the inn get a voucher for a free breakfast, which is much, much better than your typical chain-hotel grab-and-go; there are choices for different full meals. We enjoyed our two dinners there, with a glass of wine, too. I appreciated how the hosts made an effort to seat people as close to the windows as possible, whenever possible, and gave them the option to wait for a window-side seat if they so desired. The food was fine; local trout, for one thing (I appreciated that our server, in de-boning it, noticed that the fish was slightly undercooked; she took it back to the kitchen and it came back nicely done)--and a good burger for lunch. The owner strolled table to table to welcome guests and request feedback--nice touch. Folks at the front desk were friendly and helpful. An altogether pleasant experience. For the views alone, hope to return someday.

Room Tip: The Pisgah Room is worth it.

My wife and I stayed two nights here as a quick getaway at the end of summer. The weather was great and the temps were perfect. The view from our room was amazing and the on site restaurant serves great food with great service. The Pisgah Inn has become our official escape destination when we need a few days away from everything.

Room Tip: All the rooms face the same direction and have a beautiful view.

This lodge is located right on the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile marker 408. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. We were on the second floor and our view was awesome. My daughter and I saw a chipmunk and a bunny. I loved the rocking chairs on our balcony. We did not get a chance to hike around in the area, but I would like to do that if we hopefully can get a chance to visit again. The dining room had a spectacular view of the mountains. A great place to escape the hustle and bustle of life.

This place is all about the view. It's a fanastic mountain view, you can see a good distance. They don't have AC, I was there on a mildly warm evening and that made it a little difficult to cool down after a short hike. But it quickly cooled off at nightfall. Shorts and a t-shirt weren't enough then, even though it was July. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. I opted for a second floor room with a king sized bed. It's pretty much a standard room except the sink was outside the bathroom. The wireless internet access worked great.

We were VERY impressed with our 2nd floor room. Both with the amenities and cleanliness and the INCREDIBLE views. The dinning room was superb as was evident by the large number of parties who had traveled from Asheville just for the meal. We were most pleased with the selection and quality of the menu including the extensive wine list. Again what a view!! We only stayed one night and wished we had planned to have stayed two. Definitely a step above other concessionaire lodging we experienced elsewhere along the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Room Tip: 2nd Floor in the first building if at all possible.

We just returned from a road trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We came upon the Pisgah Inn where we stopped for lunch along our travel from Tennessee to Ashville, North Carolina. Our first reaction was to the amazing view from the mountain side Inn. We had an amazing lunch in their restaurant which has all glass windows for a never ending view of the Blue Ridge mountains. We quickly decided to check and see if they had a room and were very surprised to find they had a vacancy. We didn't expect alot, but were so pleasantly surprised!

We were in room 126 in the Tree Tops building (far left). We were on the main floor. When we got in, we were so, so pleasantly surprised. The room smelled so fresh, was updated, clean and had an amazing, amazing view from the terrace. The room had all the amenities...an updated bathroom, two beds with good mattress, clean linen, fridge, flat screen tv, desk, internet access, etc. The best part was the terrace that had two great rocking chairs to sit and enjoy the view at any time!

The room was reasonable....I think around $126 per night without tax and this included a breakfast voucher. The voucher entitles you to 5 choices for breakfast....which all looked amazing. We had stayed in many hotels that had complimentary breakfast that was horrible. We felt that even though there were only five choices, they were exceptional and far surpassed any other hotel breakfast offered.

The Inn is right off the Parkway and there are many things to do and see around there. There are the small towns of Brevard and Waynesville close by. We went into Brevard which is quaint and has many wonderful stores, art galleries, and restaurants. On your way to Brevard, take Brevard Road. It is also scenic and will take you past Looking Glass Falls and other nature centres, and attractions.

The Restaurant at the Inn is not fancy, but the food is very, very good and the portions are huge. You do not need to dress up and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. You will not be disappointed with a stay in this fabulous lnn along the Parkway!

Room Tip: I see from other reviews that not all rooms are updated. I was in the Tree Top building on the main...

This is a pretty simple hotel that has always been fairly nice. The onsite restaurant is great because it is very nice and it is the only spot for food for about 30 minutes. The amenities of the hotel are simple with wifi and limited Cable TV options. Thought the wifi is not very reliable. The bathrooms are pretty small and you should bring your own bar of soap because the kind that is provided is cheap and leaves a residue on your skin. But the view is a amazing! I feel that it makes up for all of the little headaches. A panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains!
