Every room in this hotel inside the national park has a balcony or patio that overlooks the Blue Ridge mountains, and has windows with screens so that you can open everything up and sleep with the fresh air if you wish. We were there in July when the rest of the eastern seaboard was sweltering and we enjoyed cool breezes and the night air throughout our stay.
The hotel is a lot like a roadside motel; our room was clean with comfortable beds and a modest bathroom. No luxuries--except for the mountains, and those are hard to beat. The Hotel also has a fine dining restaurant that serves an included breakfast as well.
Be sure to reserve a second-floor room if you want a balcony with rocking chairs for the best view. It's a beautiful place to stay if you're driving the Parkway or just going through part of the park.
