So you go there one night, and you have to have the fried green tomatoes and shrimp appetizer, then an unbelievably great steak. And the craft beers from the local brewery are a great complement to the meal, although the wine selection is terrific too. And then you start thinking about what you didn't get, so you have to go back another time within the week for the white bean chili or a fresh salad and then one of the specials -- like butternut squash risotto, or the fantastic vegetarian dish of a stuffed pepper (quinoa and goat cheese!) Service is fantastic: attentive and friendly, yet unobtrusive. Decor is warm and gives you a real sense of place, unlike some other places in the area that go overboard with the mountain motif. It's a great night out that gives you great food in a relaxed atmosphere. It's ambitions are upscale and the food shows it, yet the vibe is definitely a casual feel with a conviviality that will make you feel as if you have known the place for years and consider it your own little secret.

I ordered the Bourbon Barrel Sirloin and was it good! My wife opted for the Voodoo Pasta and was also very pleased. Highly recommended! Don't forget reservations!

We live in the area and frequent this place all the time. Everytime we have company in town, this is the place we want to take them. The food is out of this world and the presentation is above all expectations. I have been here to eat more times than I can count and have never had a bad meal or experience. The owners are great people and always there to chat with the customers while they work. Don't miss this little jewel in the area. It is hidden from the beaten path of Waynesville/Maggie Valley area, but worth the effort to find. Go there! You won't be sorry!!

Plenty of parking across the street. Small restaurant with great host/owner and employees. Have eaten here many times and the food has always been great. I love the hamburger but this restaurant is about more than that. Service has always been good and never disappointed with my selection of food. Always busy, has a small area sliced off from main dining with a few tables which can be set aside for a larger party I imagine. Can be noisy near the bar as this building has had many lives during the years and was not specifically designed as a restaurant I imagine.

Not sure if this will continue but this summer bottle wine was half price on Wednesdays - a nice incentive for a mid-week visit which could become a habit for our retired summer residents.
