Quiet little restaurant in our quaint little town. Food is very good and very affordable. Service is excellent!

“new owners, food still good but front of house disorganized and no liquor license”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

We have always found the food at Thai Spice to be excellent but were concerned when we heard there were new owners. We were quite pleased to find the food still very good. However, the front of house seemed disorganized. Tables were not cleaned and reset after customers left. Water was not regularly refilled. The new owners seemed to be doing most of the front of house themselves but were obviously not professional wait staff. At one point, one of the new owners picked up our water glasses and carried them off to be refilled where any other restaurant would have been walking around with a pitcher to refill glasses. We were warned that we would wait 20 minutes for food, which was fine, but the table we were put at first had to be cleared (by an owner) but was still sticky when we sat down and then we did not get menus, water, or asked about placing our order for several minutes. We did not get any silverware or napkins until food was served. There was a waitress who took our order but she did not seem to be responsible for any follow up until she did the bill. The woman who used to be the waitress (and was good) seemed to be coordinating the kitchen and did bring our food to the table. Additionally, what they did not tell us when we decided waiting 20 minutes for food was ok is that they are still waiting for their liquor license so a longer wait for food was a little bit of what do we do now. Had been looking forward to a cold beer ... sitting with a glass of water is just not the same. We will go back for the food but hopefully the other issues will be worked out.

“Outstanding lunch”
Reviewed April 30, 2014 via mobile

We stopped in during a drive through Waynesville and were pleasantly surprised at the service, hospitality, and quality of the meal. Homemade lemonade wasn't on the menu, but they delivered it just because it was what i had hoped to have with our meal. Wines an beer are also available at very reasonable prices. My husband had the spicy vegetable and I ordered the chicken pad see-u. Both were outstanding! I highly recommend this gem in beautiful historic Waynesville.

“Very good flavorful meal”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

The one thing, as other reviewers have mentioned is you have to order the right heat level. Don't hesitate to ask your server to describe the heat levels. I love spicy food, but I can't eat the two hottest levels of spice. So.... on the second time I got it right. Everything was delicious and this time I still had my taste buds at the end of the meal!

Excellent pork and chicken curry, excellent appetizers as well.

Sevice was very good both times we went here.
