“Disgustingly filthy and a safety hazard”

Surf or Sound Realty,

My sister and I rented Champagne Views in Waves from you the week of August 8-1, 2015.
We got our notice that it had been cleaned and inspected and ready for us at 4:08 p.m. We were so upset when we got to finally enter it. Upon arrival, we found the floors not swept with broom nor sweeper, toilets, sinks, bathtubs and showers all uncleaned and some clogged. Kitchen not wiped down, and ants all over counters. The blankets and comforters stunk so terribly bad they were unusable, outside lights did not work over steps, in one of the bedrooms the electrical outlet was hanging out of wall by its wires with no cover and not in a box(the T.V. was plugged into this) the ceiling fan in one of the bathrooms was hanging out of the ceiling by its wires.........and we found this note that said our house was cleaned by "such n such" and inspected for our enjoyment. Before we could even unpack our belongings we had to go to store and buy cleaning supplies and blankets, clean the home, and scrub the kitchen and bathrooms. We drove 14 hours to get to a house we and our families were looking forward to. The hot tub man said he was coming to clean the filthy hot tub mid-week and never showed up. My family and I go to the OBX every year as well as many of our friends. I plan on telling them all to reconsider using your Realty Company. I am appalled at such negligence you displayed to my family and to this home. I am also contacting the owner that you handle things for regarding this property. You should be ashamed of yourself. I know that I will never be using your company again in the future.

We regret that your home was not appropriately prepared for your arrival and we appreciate you taking the time to bring it to our attention so that we could address this with the team that was assigned to prepare your home. When notified that a home is not cleaned to guest expectations, we are glad to return to the home and clean it again. It is clear that our standards were not met and we certainly do not want this to occur with any other guest. We also appreciate you letting us know about the home maintenance issues so that we could alert our maintenance department and get these items fixed.

It is always our goal that every guest be delighted with their stay with us. Since we did not find out about your disappointment in time to address it immediately, we are glad that we were able to get in touch with you to express our gratitude for your business and offer our sincere apologies. We hope that you were able to enjoy Hatteras Island and that you choose to return to this beautiful place.
