Reviewed July 25, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The Pictures on the rental company website show a long range mountain view.
The real view is nothing but trees in your face. We only booked this cabin for the views.
If you want a woods view this cabin is perfect. Don't be deceived by the picture taken from a Drone or from another place

Hi,
We are sorry for the disappointment of the view. We have contacted the homeowner to have some of the trees cut back so the view is better. We hope you will come back to stay with us on a future vacation.
Kind Regards,
Brooklin

“Awesome Family Mountain Cabin”
Reviewed June 14, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Absolutely loved our time at Uncle John's Cabin. Kids loved the air hockey, ping pong & pool tables, darts, & bb hoop (indoor). Adults loved the massage chair (master bedroom) & hot tub (on deck). Nestled up in the mountains seems very secluded, but is quite near Tweetsie, Mystery Hill, Mast General Store, etc. Grocery store only 5-10 minutes away. Kitchen well stocked for cooking/baking. Very clean. Agree with other reviewer...pictures don't do it justice...it is lovely. A must stay if you're a family with kids.

“Really, Really Nice”
Reviewed August 15, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Clean, looks and smells new, though we knew it wasn't. The lower floor game room was popular with our teenage grandsons. The preview information gave the impression there would be golfers ruining the quiet not too far away. Actually, they were quite far away, down the winding road some distance from the cabin. Very, very quiet at night. Everything you needed was in the kitchen and the stove, fridge, microwave and coffee pot were state of the art. Plenty of very hot water.

The wireless mouse would not connect with the PC and one TV had lines running through the picture. The next day they brought a new mouse as well as an HDMI cable for the TV. All fixed!

Only complaint was bedside lighting in the master bedroom. The shades are black, as if for a seance. We couldn't read in bed for a few minutes as we like to do before turning off the lights.

Further below it asks if we would recommend the property for older travelers. Yes, as long as you can climb steps. The lower level with two bedrooms is one flight up. There are no beds on the lowest level.

Liked best: Sitting on the porch early in the morning for coffee, looking for birds and wildlife.

“No need to leave the Cabin”

We wanted a place to stay in the mountains that looked like a cabin on the outside, but contained the amenities of a more modern home. Uncle Tom's Cabin exceeded our expections!!! The unfinished basement has lots games including ping pong, pool, basketball (carnival style), air hockey, and lots of board games. There are several large screen TV's throughout the house. We enjoyed the cabin so much that we only left the cabin to go snow tubing at Sugar Mountain which was about 15-20 minutes away, and to see "downtown" Boone. If you are looking for a place which is nicely appointed, has a open floorplan, and will keep you entertained while not exploring Boone or the surrounding areas, then this is a great place to go!!!
