We have visited the area four times and thought we had found all the good eating places. Add this new one to the list! While the menu is a short list of entrees and salads, each one is hand crafted. Growing herbs and vegetables on the property helps the flavors come alive.

The "house" was built in 1861 with hand-made bricks. We are glad it has been restored and re-ooened.Would suggest reservations on weekends.

We went here because some folks on Tripadvisor recommended it. So glad we went.

Had lunch outside on a beautiful day. Service and food were outstanding, and we will always have fond memories of this place.

Be sure to try the chocolate chess pie for dessert. Yummy!

I live in Valle Crucis and am delighted to have this new addition to our local haunt. The food was fantastic as was the service! It was hard to decide what to eat but the Ceasar salad is the best I have ever had.
We sat in the back cozy room and the front and other back room appeared to be way too bright and I would not have been as happy if we had had to sit there. But the back room and patio is fabulous. I wish they had later seatings as their last time is 7:00 PM. Since we don't get home from work until 6-6:30, that makes it harder but the waitress said they are contemplating staying open to later. The wine is list is pretty good too but might want so less expensive options.
Overall, I loved it and will go back next week as well!

My sister and found this wonderful restaurant after shopping at the Mast General Store across the road. We both loved the history of the house and seeing the restoration. The food was excellent although we were disappointed that the tomato pie which was our first choice for an entree was sold out. The desserts were very good. I ordered decaf coffee which was freshly ground and made to order. The coffee took longer than I would've liked but we weren't in a hurry. Our waiter was a student in Boone and could not have been more attentive. We will definitely go back to Over Yonder when we are in the area again!

We had just returned to Valle Crucis to find that one of our favorite restaurants (1861 Farmhouse) had closed & new owners (from the Mast Farm Inn) had opened a new place with a new name, a new menu, a great chef, and a new approach (in this grand old, historic farmhouse). Initially apprehensive, we were overjoyed with what we found & experienced at this comfortable, casual dining destination. The menu is not extensive, but the Chef inspired offerings & preparations are ample, fresh, mostly locally sourced, delicious, and so tempting that you just want to come back to try them all. There were also some interesting "specials" available the night we were there. Appetizer offerings are creative & varied. We had the Pork Fries!! Amazingly creative & yummy, but they looked and ate more like "chips" than "fries" (as we refer to "fries" in the USA). The Chicken Fried Chicken (served with oh-so-good mashed potatoes, garlic green beans AND a delicious Saw-Mill Gravy) was prepared perfectly & was VERY tasty. The Tomato Cobbler, baked & served in a crock, was fantastic... full of freshness and layered summery flavors (and included a side salad). The wine list, while rather small, offered some very nice picks and excellent value (especially by the bottle). In addition, there was a fairly extensive beer list that included some of the "usual suspects", along with some of the newer, small brewery offerings from around the country. The staff was very friendly & welcoming, and there was no rush & no stress. There is very nice outdoor seating (both front & back) that comes with lovely views, and the indoor seating is cheery, comfortable, clean, and "country". I honestly can't wait to eat again Over Yonder. Plan on coming for lunch or an early supper... the menu doesn't change, but they close at 7 PM.
