“Good Vibes, Good Coffee, Good Food”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

This laid-back coffee bar and pastry shop is housed in an old chair factory from the 1920's, alongside a rushing stream. It's spacious without feeling isolating, and on any morning you are likely to find quite a few coffee lovers engaged in quiet conversation indoors or on the patio overlooking the stream. Coffee is Fair Trade, and there's a wide variety of caffeine and caffeine-free hot and cold varieties. The pastries are baked fresh every morning right there; and starting last month, lunch is served every Monday, all fresh and organic from local sources. Highly recommended!

“Premium for decaf drinkers?”
Reviewed May 19, 2014 via mobile

I meet friends fairly often at Open Road, and it seems to be perfect for many people, but it sure isn’t for decaf drinkers. Each cup of decaf is prepared individually, and so there’s an 8-10 minute wait, and the last part of the cup is filled with grounds because of the process they use.

Open Road also charges more money for decaf, which is something I’ve never encountered in the decades I’ve been drinking decaf at other coffee shops and restaurants. Open Road claims it costs them more to make decaf, but if they brewed a pot like every other coffee house does, it wouldn’t. If they think they don’t have enough decaf customers to warrant brewing a pot, then why is my cup often given away to another customer by mistake while I wait, prolonging my wait to 15-20 minutes?

There are a lot of us decaf drinkers among coffee customers, and what business is Open Road in again? If this was a pizza place or an ice cream parlor, I might understand, but a coffee shop should offer decent decaf coffee at the same price they offer regular coffee.

“Good Coffee, Great Hangout”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

A nice place to stop, share coffee and a snack with friends or solo. Nice view on the deck, free wifi. I stop if I have a few minutes between appointments. Welcoming staff, only place like it in the area!

“Great place to meet, sip, nibble and escape for a little while!”
Reviewed April 15, 2014 via mobile

A casual atmosphere with delicious coffees and smoothies AND homemade goodies to enjoy with your coffee. Seating is inside or out, free wi- fi, a good place to either meet people or work/relax on your own. Not open evenings.

“you would think you were at starbucks”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

The Mocha is tasty and very well prepared. It is not Starbucks. It is better and less expensive. The dining area is quiet and unique.
