the Loggerhead is my favorite place! My daughters and I have been going there at least 3 times a year for the last 5 or 6 years and have the greatest time. I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't like it, its close to the beach, simple, and there are no phones to annoy you. Perfect getaway! Staff is always very nice to us. I cannot wait to go back next month!

Absolutely the WORST!! We stayed on the 2nd floor; we had to CLEAN the bathroom when we got there. There were pubic hairs all over the sink, bathtub and toilet. We had to 'play' with the shower to work, the toilet didn't hardly flush (which the owner said was one of the best working commodes in the place!) Service was HORRIBLE; owners didn't care that it was dirty and would NOT do any kind of prorated refund.

Our family went to the beach for our annual vacation trip. We live in Garner so of course could not go check the rooms out ourselves. BIG MISTAKE!!!! When we got there to check in, first we could not find any body to help us and when we finally did they were extremely rude and acted as if we were being a hassle. The first clue for us should have been the NO REFUNDS signs posted in the office about 10 different ones. When we finally got the keys, (we had 3 rooms which were supposed to be handicapp accessible and were not) we went to look at the rooms and opened the door to one it smelled of urine, the showers were the worst I have ever saw, and there were roach bugs crawling around in the room and ants in the fridge. There were no phones, the carpets were disgusting, the window was broke and duct taped closed and the air did not work. The cleaning staff were extremely rude and cursed in front of our children. We wanted to leave but there were no vacancies anywhere else and we could not get a refund. It was by far the worst place we have ever stayed. We definitely would not reccommend for anyone else to stay there and we will never stay there again. The only good thing about it is that it was a very short walk to the beach. Vacationers, BEWARE!!!!

My mother, father, and sister's family made reservations a few days ahead of time for a two night's stay. They went to the location, payed for both nights, and began to settle in. My sister has a small child, but she is not a noise-maker. My father returned to the office for assistance, and they were told that they would have to leave! The office attendee said that the child was too loud, and that they had a dog, which was against the rules. My brother-in-law did bring a small dog, but left her in the truck with plenty of water (the weather was cool). Then they refused to refund the second night, much less they first night. They threatened to call the law on my father, and he urged them to call. The law was on my father's side, and the clerk refunded one night of the two.
It's amazing how rude and arrogant some people can be!

We stayed 6 days and they gave us the 7th free. We found the rooms comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly. We encountered no problems with either. It's not the Hilton , but we enjoied it. By the way , if you go , eat at Batt's. You might not like the looks of the place, but we had the best home cooked meals at the lowest prices anywhere. Two of us ate there for under $10.00 , and we were locals by the end of the week. Enjoy !

My boyfriend was being depolyed to Iraq. We could not stay in Jacksonville, NC so we decided to go to Surf City and stay instead. We stoppped at this little hotel called Loggerhead Inn. It was very cute from the outside. But, the inside left a bad taste in your mouth. It was really cute room with turtles on the the walls, but the bathroom was not great. Frist off, we could not get the shower to work then I went to the front office to complain and no one was there. Oh and by the way, there are no phones in these rooms. We never did get the shower to work. And no one was there to help. It was a little mom and pop's hotel. And the heat was either too hot or too cold.
