“Love the course but some greens are unputtable.”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

We've been to this course the last two years in April, and are heading back again this year. We love the layout and the views but the greens really do need some work.

“True Low-Country golf.”
Reviewed January 13, 2012

Beautiful old school golf course. It's very popular and can get crowded (slow). Set close to the water - so wind may be a factor. Usually in excellent condition. Club house is old, but comfortable. Pub-grub type menu. The entire staff does a nice job, and makes you feel welcome.

“Views are better than the course”
Reviewed April 23, 2011

I played OB about a year ago, the course was in OK shape (some fairways were plush and others were sparse) the greens were in decent shape.

Unfortunately we started on the back 9 and that is a dis-service to the course that is meant to be played in order 1 - 18. The course has some very nice sights looking at the Sunset Beach Bridge and overlooking the bay. The sights are are sometimes at the expense of some of the holes which tend to be a bit gimmicky.

The price is expensive for a walk-on, packages will do better, and locals will pay in comparison nothing.

An enjoyable day, but not at the top of my list to play again.

“Decent layout if not in such poor shape”
Reviewed March 29, 2010

The course has a decent range with balls for $5 per bag. Layout also is OK. The rough is very thin and brown and the greens often were lacking a lot of grass.Very poor shape overall and not worth the money. Tidewater was worlds better.
