The pot of mussels was delish. Cooked perfectly! Be sure to dip your bread in the broth they were cooked in. Amazingly good.

“Stop for the Barge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

We always stop when we are on vaca here and split Bills Hellacious Barge. They can be busy in the summer so you may have to wait before being seated and food can sometimes be a bit slow but overall it's no big deal. Hushpuppies are awesome and so is the crab dip!

“Average food, but lovely view”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

While visiting Sunset Beach, we decided to eat at Crabby Oddwaters. The food was average, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything to write home about. We did quite enjoy the lovely waterfront view, particularly as the sun was setting. The hushpuppies with cinnamon butter were delicious and a good start to the meal. The entrees were okay, but overpriced for the quality. The crab cakes were fine, but nothing like I've had in Maryland. The sides were okay, veggies and an oddly gelatanious serving of corn pudding. Another person ordered the grouper, which was fine, but just not a favorite. Not the best and really not a good value, but if you are looking for a child friendly restaurant with a lovely view, this could work.

“Excellent Seafood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

We have been going to Crabby's for years as well as buying from Bill's Seafood beneath the restaurant. The restaurant is very consistent and the food is tasty. It is a small place but can handle groups well. We wait till later in the evening so we don't wait.

“Good food, little wait time on a busy night”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

After a long drive and then check-in time at a hotel, we went to nearby Calabash for dinner only to be greeted by very long lines virtually everywhere (about 6:30 PM). Calabash seafood establishments are really busy- even on a Wednesday night! Not sure where to go, we started back to Ocean Isle Beach when we happened to pass Crabby's on the way. We decided to give it a try. There was a wait, but less than twenty minutes. Once we were seated, we enjoyed hush puppies and cinnamon butter. Our waitress, Lauren, was a hoot. She was prompt, personable, and fun- she genuinely seemed to enjoy her job. We couldn't help but notice how friendly she was to all the patrons. I ordered a sauteed seafood platter- very good. My wife ordered shrimp sandwich with a Thai sauce. It was a little strong for her- maybe had some horseradish in the sauce. We both felt we would return, although she would order something different.

Crabby's has a nice view of the river and a small channel beside the dining room. We saw many water birds and a turtle lounging in the waters. There is a bar when you first enter the restaurant and a museum-like area with many interesting seashells. Crabby's shares the building with Bill's Seafood. There was a "for sale" sign outside Bill's- not sure how this sale may impact Crabby's. Perhaps once the sale happens, someone else can comment on whether Crabby's is still in operation.
