We had a large group and the service was excellent! Our waitress (cannot remember her name) told us she was our genie and our wishes were her commands! All staff should see her for training!

Maybe not quite fair. The seafood was freshly caught. No complaints there. But it mostly seemed like it was prepared by a short order cook. Waiter was good and attentive, though.

The Good: Servers were friendly and the hushpuppies were great. Also was nice that the view was of the inlet as the sun set. Food was also fresh and tasty, buckets of seafood particularly looked great.

The Bad: The menu is over priced and you don't get enough food for what you pay for. I had a sandwich cost $12 and my wife had a fried shrimp plate at $19 that wasn't worth more than $14 bucks. Let's be honest, you're at the beach so the seafood will be overpriced. For the value, it's just not worth it. To make it worse everything is served on plastic ware, not what you'd expect when you lay out >$20 entrees.

Is it better than your typical Calabash style fish house? Yes. Would I do it again? No.

When we travel the US, regional food and local restaurants are our #1 choices. Having read about Crabby Oddwaters, we had high expectations for fresh seafood, especially since the restaurant is above a seafood shop. The good news is that the price for dinner is reasonable, but the trip from Myrtle Beach in search of a local restaurant away from the "big box" and crowded with toursit restaurants of MB like Philips Crab House or Landry's, was a wasted drive. Considering ourselves conisseuers of steamed buckets filled with classic low-country boil shell-fish, sausage, and red potatoes, their steamed pot and broth was disappointingly greasy and buttery. The pot of snow crab claws came luke-warm and undercooked. Maybe it was a bad night. The kid servers were inexperienced and kept forgetting things, although they sweetly apologized. We don't mind paper plates and plastic knives and forks, but this was amateur city. They ran out of shell crackers and we had to wait for another table to leave before they were able to give us a pair to share. We like funky restaurants, but Crabby's didn't look or smell clean. The carpet was stained and I didn't even want to peek into the kitchen area as we walked by. As a New Yorker, this place would not have come near to meeting the health code for cleanliness.

We LOVE Crabby Oddwaters for its super fresh seafood, it's views of the water, and its friendly, laid-back vibe.
Crab legs, fresh grouper, crab cakes, scallops and shrimp, and those a-MA-zing hush puppies keep us coming back.
