I really enjoy this old style, tree lined, rolling hill golf course. The greens are small and roll beautifully. This time of year the fairways are lush and the tees are in good condition. The traps are very good filled with a fine silica sand. Bruce, the pro, and his assitant Patty, are good old,
down home folks, that have always made me feel at home, when I am in this area...usually twice a year. I am a 12 handicap and really enjoy the challenges of this course. A great value for the dollar, for courses in this area. The course is only 6300 yrds from the tips, so you really don't need the driver. The fairways are generous for the most part. When playing as a single, I found every one friendly, offering to allow me to play through as I caught up with other groups. I have played it in as little as 2hrs 15 minutes, up to 3hrs 15 minutes. Be sure to have lunch in the dining room. The shrimp and cheese grits are awesome.
