Ate here last summer & again this year. Last year just average. This year...AWFUL!! Shrimp were tasteless & overlooked. Even Old Bay couldn't help! Shells wouldn't come off the shrimp. Had to rip them to shreds to get the shells off & still ended up eating quite a few shells. Crab cakes were alright. Home made brownie...so-so. I like them better from the box made at home than these. One plus is when I complained they tried again with the shrimp but no change. In the end they gave met meal free. So I give them kudos for that cause that's what it was worth.

Great atmosphere and people working there. The food was ok but for the price it was just that. We went here with high hopes and it did not reach those expectations.

I have been eating at Provision Company for 20 years, it is one of 2 "must stop at places" when visiting Southport (Taylor's is the other). The atmosphere is casual, you essentially enter via the kitchen, order from the menu on the walls, grab a drink from the coolers and head onto the dock/seating area to await your meal. Grouper salad, shrimp and crab cake are my usual's, the wife swears by their burgers but when I look out of the restaurant I see ocean, so seafood it is.

Great experience + fantastic food + wonderful service + awesome setting = perfect lunch. Went there for the first time Memorial day weekend and had a memorable lunch. A "Must See" when visiting Southport or surrounding barrier islands. A large crowd forms out front (indication of how good it is) but don't let that scare you. The wait wasn't too long, AND you can enjoy a beverage of your choice on the honor system while you wait. Great Place!
