The only word to describe my late night dining experience is "cool!" Marie and Paul have transformed a sandy lot to the hippest place to dine on the water since Provisions (yes, they own that too).

I had a never before tasted anywhere I have traveled watermelon salad!! Totally not what I expected and totally awesome! Fresh, sweet watermelon on a bed of arugula with goat cheese and drizzled just so with an Italian flare! OMG!! The best hush puppies and grouper bites accompanied my meal. And though I dined late....9:00pm, and fried food to boot, I did not feel stuffed or heavy walking out the door.

The Frying Pan is the new "best thing ever since Provisions!" The views are awesome and the breeze cool, yes, even into the night.

We love going to Southport. We arrived at 2:00 hoping for a late lunch. We found out we had to wait until 4:00. We didn't have any trouble finding things to do. It was well worth the wait. The food was great. The resturant was clean and up to date. We will go every time we are in the area.

This was out first time visiting this restaurant and really overall enjoyed the atmosphere it had to overall. I recommend the Shrimp and Grits I really enjoyed them and the hushpuppies were the best I have ever had by far!!!! Great View and a Breeze comes through the grand Windows. If you want a great taste of Southport I highly recommend.

Back in 1983, a film director named Agostino "Dino" De Laurentiis decided that Wilmington and the surrounding areas had perfect locations to shoot Stephen King's "Firestarter". Since that fateful decision, the film industry has been a great boon to the local economy.

Whenever you have roughly 200 film crew-members working on any given production, there are a lot of axillary support services that are needed...not the least of which...are restaurants!

As a member of the Location Department, we are often tasked with finding good restaurants for key members of our crew to visit while on "scouts". Basically, the director, producers, department heads, etc...all pack in to passenger vans so that they can travel from location to location to take notes and make plans. During these scouts, one of the events that is looked forward to the most...is LUNCH!

The Frying Pan has quickly become a favorite choice for local crews scouting in the Southport Area. Craig, the general manager, is always incredibly helpful and accommodating. Quite often we have last minute requests for large parties (20+) and he comes through for us every time. Not only does he come through...but the food comes out hot and on time.

In fact, The Frying Pan was recently chosen by producers as the perfect place to have a "wrap party" for a major motion picture.

The food at the Frying Pan is always fresh and delicious. There are options to be had for every member of the crew. From self-proclaimed "gourmet foodie" types...to people who just like a good sandwich...everyone is satisfied. Whether your are a meat-eater or a diehard vegan, there's something at the Frying Pan for everyone. One of the compliments we hear the most from crew-members is that the Frying Pan has the most amazing desserts.

Most Location Department members live locally. The reason for this is because we are expected to be experts on the area and to know how to find anything that is needed for a production. We are also expected to give recommendations on the best of...well...everything! Our recommendations to the crew can make or break our reputations so we never take these responsibilities lightly. The Frying Pan has become our "go to" restaurant to please everyone.

Give it a try...you will not be sorry!
