“Great Experience at the Frying Pan”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

One of my favorite destination spots, What a cool experience. The view and atmosphere was one of the coolest i have ever been to. I love to eat on the water and have fresh seafood and the views are amazing. We had a great night for it as we watched the sunset over the water. Food was very good and the service was really solid. I highly recommend this spot if you like to eat fresh seafood on the water.

“Great view, even better seafood!”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

My wife and I ordered the fried seafood platter and it was fried to perfection. Fried softshell crab and bread pudding was the best i have ever eaten. Portions were generous and the view is to die for. Wonderful, laid back environment that is a must visit whenever you are in southport.

“Great food, great location”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

We have been pleased with our meals ever since this restaurant opened. We enjoy many of the restaurants in Southport and the Frying Pan is one of them. We've been visiting the Southport/Oak Island area for over 40 years.

"Folks, this is a restaurant that should be supporting local fisherman or in the very least American fisherman." this poster obviously has an axe to grind. If she would have asked the staff if they have US product, she would have learned that their shrimp, crab, and other fish DO come from US waters. The Frying Pan also sells local grouper, when it is available and in season. As for the fish basket, swai is an FDA inspected product and is completely safe. Her comments are very irresponsible to cast doubts on the safety of the food here!!!

Try the Frying Pan, I do not think you will be disappointed.

“Frying Pan Southport.”

Gotta like seafood, not many other choices. Nice deck to stand out and view Southport harbor. Try the shrimp and grits if available. Lightly battered seafood cooked to perfection.

“Great View, Good Service, Overdone Softshell Crabs”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

The view is phenomenal and the "winterizing" makes it comfortable. The softshell crabs were a bit too battered and seemed overcooked. Couldn't believe there weren't any sweet potato biscuits because the cooker had the flu -- only one person knows how to prepare these biscuits? The chowder was wonderful and the Asian salad was very good. Service was very friendly and attentive but not fawning over us.
