First time visiting The Frying Pan over Labor Day weekend and was very happy with the experience. The food was very good especially the hushpuppies. We all had the cajun fried fish which was fresh and had good flavor. Most menu offerings are fried which makes sense judging by the name of the restaurant.

The restaurant is open air but screened in. The weather was very pleasant the night we were there but I could see where it might get hot if the ocean breezes die down. I would definitely go back to try some other menu items. They indicated that the will be operating seasonally.

Beautiful restaurant with the best view ever. Owned by the same people that own the coolest restaurant ever The Yacht Basin Provision Company which is right next door. Great waitstaff who were very friendly and attentive. Mainly fried seafood which was fine, but not a whole lot of other menu choices. If they would add the incredible burgers and a few other popular menu items from the Provision Company combined with the comfort and view of this beautiful restaurant and the great staff and owners this place would be a destination in itself for people to visit on the NC coast.

The Frying Pan very recently opened. There is ample room in the dining area so you don't feel as if you are on top of other guests. The unique southern exposure is all open but screened in. The view is phenominal. The service, remember it's a brand new restuarant, was attentive, pleasant, and friendly. All orders (we were a party of seven) were accurate and served in a timely fashion. Hush puppies were placed on the table when we arrived; they were hot and delicious...another basket was delivered when the first somehow had evaporated. The menu is primarily seafood although there was one beef option and chicken to top a salad. The food is all served "in a basket". But that doesn't detract from the quality or presentation -- the quality was excellent and the presentation was pleasing. Drinks were refreshed frequently and always with a smile from the staff. Everyone in the party was at least very pleased with their selection -- all exclaimed they were looking forward to a return visit.

This new restaurant has amazing views and great service. The menu is very limited with all the seafood being fried. The hushpuppies with honey butter were yummy and I liked my cajun fried fish but the french fries were not great and I didn't love the sweet potato biscuits. The fried shrimp was ok but nothing special. For the price I would go elsewhere.

The Frying Pan sits on the shore, high above the water...at least two stories but it is handicap accessible with elevator. The service is very friendly and attentive. The seafood menu is standard with the exception of sweet potato biscuits - which were tasty. Our selections, shrimp, oyster and crab were fresh and the frying "coating" was light, came with crisp fries and a little sweet potato puck! The view is wide open..and we watched the boats from the screened dining room. (I saw people sitting on the outside deck but I don't know if the serve there.) You'll be comfortable in cut-offs and flip flops or dressed casually chic...your option. Prices are reasonable...restaurant opens after 4 pm.
