Pretty good food, reasonable prices, good service, decent decor, no view. Moderate to limited menu. Tends to feature Mediterranean food. Quiet, good for a date night. There are 4-5 restaurants I like better, but we go now and then.

The new Bistro in Southport is outstanding. The food is fresh and lots of it is locally grown. Salads are so fresh they crackle when you bite into them, the fruit is sweet and delicious. Taste like it has just been picked from the tree or bush. Hamburgers and seafood are made fresh and served exactly like they should be served, hot. The service is well above average. Very attentive to your every wish. Desserts are delicious. What more can I say, it is a great experience all around.

Best restaurant in Southport if you're looking for high quality, fresh food. We ate here multiple times on our trip to Oak Island. The pasta salad is too die for! I had the lunch special sandwich (shrimp and Brie on a baguette), and OMG, that's all I wanted for te rest of our trip.

A FRI evening without reservations so we sat at the bar for drinks, tapas and desert. Preparing drinks and serving our food was Kate, the lone bartender of the evening who did a superb job. While the bistro décor is pleasant, the vibe comes from the high level of conversation going on among patrons in a full restaurant, an indicator that all are experiencing a very good restaurant.
Cocktails and wine are not inexpensive, but excellent, and the wine pour is generous. A nice selection of tapas make for a nice, lite dinner, and individual portions run $6-$9. Desserts run in the $5 range, completing the proposition that the value received is fair.
