“Southern cooking with flair”

Nice local place with good food and ever expanding selections. I think it is a former garage that they have turned into a restaurant. Love the local veggies and foods. Prices are reasonable and the service is good.

“Sunday Brunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

We stopped at Taylor's 4/13/14. We arrived near 10am, and had a wait of 15 minutes. We drank sweet tea and sat in the rockers out front, so the wait was pleasant. Once seated, we had great service, and enjoyed looking at the wall decorations. There is movie memorabilia from Safe Haven, and photographs of the owner with the cast and Nicholas Sparks. When our food arrived, our party of 4 was pleased! The homemade biscuits were amazing! My son had a purple waffle which was quite a treat. When we went to leave, the owner addressed my husband by name, remembering it from the wait list. Not many places go to such lengths with their guests. We had a wonderful brunch, and will definitely visit again next time we are in Southport.

“Seems to be slipping...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

Have eaten here for years but it seems like the people running the place are not very happy. Not very often you see a smile or a warm greeting. Waitress does a good job but there is only one so sometimes can be a little tough to get her attention. The food..just not the same, last 3 times asked for home fries cooked well...has never happened and portion is very small, last time got a biscuit that was rock hard, as I saw fresh biscuits coming out. I did ask and received a fresh one....this trip ordered a sausage and cheese omelet and it came out wet and runny, and took 20 minutes to get. The prices are not cheap and I just expect more in the way of more consistent food and service. Hope they listen or it will be off to the place across the street!

We go here for lunch often. They have the best salads in the area! This is the perfect restaurant for any type meal. The last visit I had the BBQ pork ribs. They were great.
