Nice View, dated interior, average food, great location. Mr. P's of Fishy Fishy would be my suggestions for good seafood.

Stopped at this restaurant as it was the first we came by. While looking at the menu, some people came out and were raving about the food, so we decided to try it. Should've kept walking. The service was fine. There was that funky smell I noticed when walking in as well. Wasn't sure if it used to be a smoking restaurant or it was something else. Our server was friendly. They views were very nice. You can definitely tell it's an older restaurant but that doesn't really bother me. That usually means its good. The food was average and not inexpensive. It was just ok.

Server went out of his way to pretty much ignore us. While the drinks and food were brought out quickly, it went downhill from there. The tea was terrible and we asked that they be replaced with a soft drink. The server said no problem, and proceeded to walk past our table at least 5-6 times, not even looking in our direction (although we were right in his path to go back and forth to the kitchen) and finally, some 15 minutes later, the busboy brought out the drinks.

Once done with the food, we waited for the server to come back by, who quickly stopped asking us if there was anything else he could get us. We asked for dessert, which he went to get and again, had us waiting 15-20 minutes before he brought it to our table. When he did, he set the plates down and said he'd be back with spoons. He came back with the spoons and ONE napkin (there were 4 of us splitting the desserts). When he came back by, I quickly asked for the check, which was brought back to us quicker than our food was. The server never thanked us, never checked to see how our food was nor did he ever offer us refills on our drinks, NADA. Needless to say, our tip for him reflected the poor service.

On our way out, we spoke to the manager (?) and mentioned how dissatisfied we were about the service. I also mentioned the food was very bland, no taste whatsoever. I wasnt expecting any compensation, none was offered. While standing there, the server approached the counter, threw the book down (that the check and the money was in) on the counter and literally glared at me. It appears he saw what his tip was and didnt seem to be happy about it. Lucky we didnt write a "tip" telling him how to better serve people rather than leave money.

Very disappointed in our visit and not sure if we will go back or not. I realize they have some off days but they really need to train their waitstaff to be more attentive, faster and courteous.

The only good points I can give - the view is beautiful and the chocolate cake was very good.

The shrimp platter is outstanding. Very fresh shrimp and lots of it. They make a great hurricane like drink (can't remember name), but it is great. Had dinner here on first night in town and returned twice more with friends. Everyone loved their seafood. Great views out windows. You can watch tankers going by that you feel you can reach out and touch. Several Islands can be viewed from windows. Best seafood in Oak Island area.

Only plus, great waterfront views.
Other than that, terrible service, Had nothing to drink except water or tea, kids shrimp plate cost $10! And there was very little shrimp, but TONS of French fries, waitress was VERY rude, they close daily at 2:30pm and we were rushed out, flies everywhere, need I say more? Got to the Provision seafood Co. (As seen in Safe Haven) or Fishy Fishy. The only reason this place is still open is their location, tourists walk to waterfront and they are right at the front door of this place. Turn right and keep walking, you will find truly awesome seafood and experiences!
