“Average fare with a great atmosphere”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Average isn't bad; it means that the food meets the expectations of most guests. The lunches are far more affordable than the evening menu. There are two distinct outside dining areas and one enclosed dining room. Service was efficient and the menu is what you might expect in a resort oriented seaside establishment. What earns this restaurant a "very good" rating is its location- on the bay with lots of boat traffic to watch while your food arrives.

“Service beats the food”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

I went to fishy a few weeks back with family. It looked like a nice place to go because it was by the water. I had the shrimp and grits and others I was with had the fishy taco, cheeseburger, and bourbon salmon. The shrimp and grits was average and nobody really raved about the other stuff. It wasn't bad by any means but nothing special. What made the experience so great was the service we got. Our waitress, Mckenzie (i think was her name) did an excellent job at everything. Our glasses were never empty and she talked to us like she had known us for years. She was very pleasant and I told her I would only come back if she would be our waitress. So overall, the food was alright but the waitress was much better.

“Great seafood place”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We were at Fishy Fishy during the low tourist season. It was nice, quaint and no wait. Sunset over Oak Island to the west was beautifull. I can imagine the place is hopping in the summer. My Burbon Salmon was delicious, service was friendly and quick although it took the waitress a bit to properly split our bill between two couples. Crab dip was one of the better ones I ever had. Prices are a bit high for the area, but quality of the food makes it somewhat justifiable. If you find yourself in the area Fishy Fishy is a definite recommendation. After you are done dinning take a stroll along the water and enjoy the historic homes of sea captains and sea pilots.

“Good location and good food!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Has lots of choices for dinner and lunch. Food is good and location at the Southport Docks can't be beat. Bloody Mary is a good spicy one w/ a shrimp for decoration. Also has some outside seating by the water on nice days.
