“Excellent unique dishes cooked fresh”
Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

We loved 195! Portions are big; my husband and I split two appetizers and a main course and were happily full when we left. The soba noodle salad with blackened shrimp was outstanding, I can't wait to have it again on a warm summer day outside. The lamb main course was impressive in size and flavor! Loved the raita poured on top. We will be coming back often to keep trying more dishes on the menu.

“195 continues to deliver great dining”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Just ate at 195 again last night. The food was as wonderful as ever, the service was great and we had a wonderful time. They keep doing it right. I had the lamb vindaloo with all the trimmings and it was wonderful. If you like your vindaloo blistering hot just let your server know and the chef will accomodate you. My wife had the wonderful shrimp curry which she loved, "with lots of shrimp." My son had the chicken quesadilla and the spinach ravioli which normally comes w shrimp. He is not a shrimp fan so the chef accomodated him and did it with chicken. 195 continues to be our favorite restaurant in the Sandhills of NC.

“Bright and fun, but....”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

We had a 6 person dinner party the other night with mixed results.

On the plus side, we had attentive service and everyone found something to like on the electic menu. It definitely leans toward the Indian, but we all love curries and nan, so there were no complaints. The appetizers offered unusual bites of seafood and salads. Entrees were all well received, although the side dishes were undistinguished. The wine and beer list was a terrific compliment to the dishes on offer.

On the not so positive side, both the menu and the staff fail to alert you if your choice may bring some peppery heat along with it. Some of our party who stay in the milder part of the pepper spectrum got very unpleasant surprises. In aother case, we were assured by our waiter that a dish was not hot, and it turned out to be hotter than one of our dishes that the kitchen was supposed to have punched up, but didn't. Finally, WAY too many dishes came out lukewarm in temperature, like the oyster appetizer, which could have been great if it had been brought to table on time.

Bottom line: go and enjoy, but really quiz the staff on the heat of each dish, and remind them to get it all out on time.

“Great Local Restaurant”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

You need to really search to find this place but its great. The wait staff is nice and accommodating and the cook/kitchen prepares unique dishes that are excellent. They also have a nice selection of special drinks.

“Outstanding food!”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

A new friend told us we MUST have lunch here, so we did. Wow, what a great place! Amazing dishes, perfectly prepared. Very casual atmosphere, loft-style, bare-walls type of interior. But food worthy of the finest place. I had the tandoori chicken on nan sandwich. Very tasty. The others in my party had chicken tacos. We all loved it and said we couldn't wait to share the place with others.
